Default I'm Heading to the NHL draft

In Florida and want to know if anyone has been to the BT&T Centre and if there are good pubs with bands around there. I'm sure I'll go down to the beach in FT. Laud. one night but looking to stay around the arena on Friday night to have a bunch.

Please, please, please throw a shoe or something at the Oilers execs when they go up.

Abscond with a T-Shirt cannon if you must, do what it takes. They must know of their No-Goodness.

If you're not being picked in the 1st round, then you shouldn't go.

Or pull a Derek Zoolander. Walk up to the podium when McDavid's name gets called, put on the jersey and thank everyone for the honour. Refuse to leave no matter what.

Find out what hotel the Oilers' management is staying at. Put a burning bag of dog poop on the floor outside Kevin Lowe's room, knock on the door, and run away. Don't forget to set up a hidden camera before you do all of this.

I'm sure we could get a CP crowd fund going too.

Loob Job - Would you do it for $200?

I would pay a hefty price to see someone shove Kevin Lowe off of a stage.

Bb&t center across a large parking lot and road from Sawgrass Mills. There are several restaurants and pubs in there. We went to Cheesecake Factory when we went. If you arrive early enough you'll be able to park at the mall as well, they had security guards checking when we went, but we were already there for the restaurant.

Not attack you or anything like that, but I never understood the allure of attending a draft?

Seems pretty boring.

It's like watching people get called up at the doctors office "by number" except you're not even in line...

Its more or less a sub-par All-Star game.

I think there's some niche appeal:
- People looking to get rookie autographs on stuff
- More chance of talking to people who are part of the business (GMs, media, owners, etc...)

Can't really think of anything else. i agree it would be boring. Makes me think about the Bill Burr routine where he says people who complained about Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend deserve everything they get for watching the draft.

However, if someone was to throw something at the Oilers' brass and/or pull the Zoolander, that would be incredible.

Unless you're a fan of hockey and have been following the prospects and lists all season, then it's not like that at all.

I went to the one in Jersey and it was a blast. You get to talk to fans from different fan bases and you get to boo the oilers. Sure, I was the only one booing MacTavish when he went to the podium, but my disdain for all that is no good is forever immortalized on youtube.

Better yet, sneak into the Flames war room and take a picture of their whiteboard with the list of players they ranked on it.

Attending the draft in Calgary in 2000 was fun, if only for chanting "You sold out!" at Glen Sather and for booing Bettman.

Ah well that explains it. I clearly am not a fan of hockey.

I think what he is getting at is if you are invested in the team then it shouldn't be anything like sitting in a doctors office.

You said you weren't interested in watching junior hockey, whereas some people probably know the names of the first 100 or so draft picks before the draft.
