That would be awesome to watch FIFA crumble after UEFA leaves.
Although the new WC wouldn't be the official successor Cup, everyone in their right mind would recognize it as the continuation of the existing WC stats. I think that is what most people are afraid of: losing the tradition and stats that go along with FIFA's long history.

One further thing that I recently learned...
I always thought (as everyone else does) that it's completely silly to hold a WC in a country of 1.8 million people. However, what I didn't know is that there are only 278,000 Qataris, and over 1.5 million foreigners living in Qatar.
12 large stadiums in a country with 278,000 citizens.
The stadiums are designed by Albert Speer's son. I'll just leave that tidbit here.
