Okay, this is the first year I'm officially out to lunch on new music. Seriously, I guess it happens as you get older, but I don't recognize 90% of bands playing in these festivals.
Also, isn't lollapalooza a rock oriented festival? Sam Smith, Asap Rocky, Kaskade? It seems all the festivals have moved to a "something for everyone" model? Or more accurately a "let's just all use the same artists, give or take" model".

Rock is probably not enough of a draw anymore.
As much as we'd like these to be about the music, big festivals are still in it to make money.
