I save that for blind dates usually. Sets a nice tense early tone for date I find.

They have no bodies and beyond the sighting of the truck it's hard to know what they have on this guy. The police have been unusually tight lipped on this one, to the point I wonder if they're being professional and quietly confident, or lack evidence.
This case is so tragic given the little boy involved and that he was with his grandparents in a home where danger would not be expected.

The guy is still in custody isn't he? How do you keep him in custody? Has he been charged with anything?

Yeah, he was. Two counts of first degree for the grandparents, and one count of second degree for Nathan.
Poor little guy...the ####### probably didn't expect the kid to be there.
But I doubt they would have charged him unless they had something solid...but we won't find out what all the evidence is until the trial.

Isn't it up to a judge to decide if he stays in custody, or have I watched too much TV?

Yes, they have to have a bail hearing, but they probably have had that already, alternatively a justice of the peace can order the prisoner held until the next court appearance

My face is a bum!

A guy I played hockey with has been in remand for over 2.5 years. By the time he goes to trial for murder it will be over 3 years.
No one has gone to get his jersey back...

Right so it aint the police that are holding him it is the judiciary.

Remand would be a nightmare, but doubly so when you have a bum for a face.

Crime reporters on Twitter saying it's up to three counts of first-degree. Wonder what evidence caused the change.

This case pisses me off so much. The kid gets killed because he slept over at Gramma and Grampa's on the wrong night. I can't imagine how hard it is for his parents to not know where Nathan's body is lying. I think I'd want to break into the prison and kill the guy with my own hands.

That would have to be some pretty solid evidence then to bump it up to 3 - first degree murders?
They must have found something at the farm.

Not guilty, but I've also heard that the evidence against him is very strong.

I can't wait for the publication ban to be lifted so see what they have on him. I assume that'll be a while though, years perhaps?

Same with me, although I feel bad for saying that considering how heart breaking this entire case is.
I just want him to tell investigators where the bodies are. What a heartless POS. Although he'll probably use that as leverage to try and get some type of plea bargain.

So that would imply that he went there with the intention of killing all 3 people, not just one or both of Grandparents? He knew the kid was there?
