To charge my battery I just connect my trailer plug to my generator for about an hour a day. The current battery I have now is a complete piece of crap however as I'm running a single 12v after my two Trojans went missing earlier in the season when I decided to take my dog for a walk. It amazes me that someone would steal two 80lb batteries from a campsite in the middle of the day.

That's why when I bought my two Trojans 6v first thing I did was get some chain from Rona and locked them up. People are dicks...

and I re-wired mine so I could store them inside my trailer under the seats.

I love that idea.

No issues with the batteries being inside?

Yeah I wasn't to happy. Had to drive into town to grab a battery just to drive the trailer home.

Yeah, some fata-face jacked my battery and propane tank while it was in storage this winter. I just leave my battery on a solar charger in the winter, and it seems to be fine every spring.

You can afford a luxury like a trailer, but you are so poor you can't afford a crappy battery and 30 dollar 20 lb propane tank?

anyone have thoughts on this generator?

http://www.homedepot.ca/product/ener...with-el/402495

I can get a new one for $325, however I want one that will run AC unit. Think this will do that? I cant really find reviews

nope, none at all. Technically, batteries give off hydrogen gas when charging, but it isn't a large amount, and I'm only really charging when I'm at home getting ready, so I'm never found it to be a problem.

if you are going to be running an A/C with it, I'd make sure it can start the A/C up (they require more W to start-up than keep going).

Also, you'll want to get an inverter generator (like the first one). They are much quieter and, as a consequence, your generator will last much longer (because other campers like me won't be wandering over to pour sugar water into your gas tank).

Energizer uses Hyundai engines so it's a step up from the cheapo brands out there, think of this one as a rebranded Hyundai HY2800sei because that is exactly what it is. 2800 watts "should" run your AC depending on the system you have of course but remember that generator probably runs around 2000-2200 max. AC will most likely run ok but it would pop if you tried the microwave or another loaded device. At 325 personally I think it's a great deal, it will be louder then others out there and not have the same build quality but will most likely do what you need it to.

Check the Hyundai reviews and go from there

Yeah, for $325 it's going to be impossible to beat.

But as stated, it will for sure be louder than the high end ones and you might be "that guy" if you choose to run it all day long.

Sorry I assumed the $325 one was a different generator.

For 325, if you don't buy it, I will

If I were to look for one of these on kijiji what would it be called? Looked for hard top tent trailer and that didn't work.

Saw one in a neighbours yard thought it looked better than the traditional tent trailer.

I think they are a-frame tent trailers.

Neat looking but pretty tiny compared to most Tent trailers that expand out the ends. If its just 2 people I guess it might work.

I've bitten the bullet and am going to park my trailer for a year and see if that style of camping suits me. Saturday morning I'm hauling it down to a campground in Idaho I've frequented and we'll use the 5th wheel as a cabin based outside Bonners Ferry.

what a weird design. I suppose if you were only 4' tall this would be pretty good. As a fairly tall guy, I'd only be able to stand in the exact middle.

As near as I can tell, it has almost no advantage over a tent trailer aside from it looks a little lighter and it is definitely more aerodynamic, so a smaller vehicle could tow it.
