Before tonight's episode, I was almost worried they might completely skip cerci getting busted by lansel + the high sparrow.
Best thing that's happened all season!

That sort of speaks to the weak season it has had so far.
Film makers speed through 2 books and still sort of have a boring season, shows you had bad the last 2 books were.
Also, anyone remember "Quentyn Nymeros Martell"? Very glad that story-line wasn't included in the show. I don't understand why it was even in the books, to shows Daenerys doesn't marry or pity a fool?

Basically, yeah. Just to prove her strength and commitment to being unconquerable and an indication of her lack of mercy (except in regard to slaves/suffering at the hands of an overlord) she's one badass bitch.

I kind of had a fan boy moment when Tyrion walked out to meet Daenerys. But then I realized it hadn't happened in the boys yet. And if and when it does, the joy of that moment was taken from me already.
Curse you GRRM and your snail's pace of authoring books.

I suspect that when puberty finally hits, that won't be the Daenerys scene you revisit with renewed interest.

I wonder if Jorah plays the part of Quentyn Martell, and tries to set the dragons free to impress/win over Daenerys?

I that it's part of an overall plot to isolate her from potential Westeros allies and make her more and more the outsider who has no place in Westeros, when she finally does return. Aegon is the other factor here who is likely to enter a marriage alliance with the Martells

I'll have to follow you up on that in a bit. Im in the process of re-reading but my first go-round left me with a distinct fear for her actions as too extreme and causing her own isolation, not only from westeros but from her current following as well.

Martin uses the phrase "bed of blood" or "bloody bed" only 3 times in the entire book series (so far). All three are in the first book. Twice, Ned remembers making a promise to Lyanna while she lies in her "bed of blood". The other reference is when Dany asks the old woman for help with her pregnancy. The woman responds that she knows all the secrets of the "bloody bed". She is obviously referring to a maternity bed at the time...
|
The phrase "bed of blood' is in book 4 too: "...whilst women brought forth short-lived children from beds of blood and pain..."
Regarding Jon being Lyanna's son - there's a lot in the first book about how Jon and Arya look alike and then Ned tells Arya that she looks like Lyanna...so I'd assume that means Jon looks like a lot like Lyanna, as well.

Dany's story hasn't progressed in nearly 2 seasons so it's about damn time something happens in Meereen.

I'm disappointed that Tyrion won't be riding a pig in the TV show.

I made that post and I have read all of the books. Are you just referencing how nothing happens to her story-line for even longer in the books?

Thanks. I thought he used it again in a later book, but my Kindle search didn't return any results (I didn't search for "beds of blood").

Yes. The show has actually moved her story along quite quickly compared to the books and all the self brooding that Martin felt compelled to write about
