For me it's when I use a public toilet. First it has to be a dire emergency before i'll use them and secondly I have no desire to flush as god knows what germs are on the handle or when it was last disenfected. It get really bad when i'm walking out and the guy coming in asks who died in here.

HUGE dick move. You're stealing from your friends man. Let them tip directly if they want to if your not going to. Taking the money when they think it's going elsewhere is exactly that, stealing.
Not to mention the whole not tipping thing.

Nope never, how are they to ever know since I never pay in cash? If I do, I round up and tell them it's all we have (I often then pay in small change to make it truly seem that way). 90% of the time I have to pay for delivery anyway, I know it doesn't count, but for me that there is the tip.

They don't care, heck some of them probably know since they know I believe tipping in that manner is something I don't do. I tip at restaurants, and always will. Call it pettiness maybe, but I worked at a restaurant myself and the owners pocketed the tip jar. After that I became disenfranchised about tipping. It's also very small amounts anyway, so there's barely actually any tip money involved.

You're saying probably??? It s a dick move to pocket the extra money. It's a shame your friends don;t know that you are a cheap skate.

Exactly. The whole not tipping thing is another issue, I get it to a degree (though not for the pizza delivery guy) but pocketing the cash your friends give you, that they ended to give as a tip is just so damn sad.
We've all been out for drinks and been the one to pay on our card. The money everyone pitches in for their drinks isn't to pay for my drinks and to pocket the cash. If a buddy paid way too much for his bill knowingly, that money isn't mine all of a sudden, it's their tip money.
How hard up for cash do you have to be.

They can look at the receipt that's printed out I'd imagine. Or do you take that as it's being printed and hide it from your friends?

I once got a phone call from a pizza place after I tipped just over two bucks. Now I know it wasn't a great tip, and I generally tip more, but it was one of those situations, it was the last change I had in my pocket at the time. And that's exactly what I told the guy.
But yeah, they know.
Haven't ordered from them since though.

What receipt, who gets a receipt for pickup and delivery orders? As I said this is for orders where say the exact amount is $9.35 each (for 5 people). Everyone proceeds to round up to $10. I then pay 46.50 with debit or credit. So tell me then a better way of doing it? Other than breaking out change or everyone paying with their own card.

Adding 2-3 bucks to the total when you pay. If the debit machine can do 46.50 I bet it can handle $49.50

Well the way you phrased it first, you made it sound like (almost pride in it) that there was some subterfuge going on. "No one is the wiser" or something like that. I guess if they know you aren't tipping and they aren't worried about getting change back that's different. Still really cheap, but not as bad.
I mean, why not just give him the whole handful of money if your really concerned about it being easy and convenient. It's not like your paying extra. That would be easier than doing the whole Interac thing after all.

As someone who's stiffed on a tip for the delivery boy, yes, they do remember your house. They also know how much you're tipping since they enter the amount on the debit/credit machine and they see how much you've given them on the merchant receipt.
Since that day, they've always delivered my pizzas cold, no matter how fair my later tips have been

Do you order from the same place more than once? If so bold move, as I'm sure the delivery guys adds a little something extra to your food.

This thread makes me wonder what specifically qualifies someone as a sociopath.

I hate celebrating Christmas. I hate going for parties, I hate the decorations, I hate the songs and the TV shows. I hate everything about it.
Except watching my son open presents. I do love the look on his face. Nearly evens everything out. Nearly.
I especially ####ing hate Christmas trees. Pine needles everywhere. Forever. Even fake trees seem to die and lose all their needles.
I also hate that Christians took a perfectly good ancient ritual about goat slaughter and practical jokes and made it about Jesus. Pretty sure the dude was born in the spring.
Edit: I'm 100% sure this belongs in the GMG thread, as I still "follow" the social convention of Cripsmus. I just hate it is all.

Putting a napkin on my lap at restaurants bugs the hell out of me. I need that thing to wipe my hands and stuff. It doesn't belong on my legs.
