Bp has never actually cleaned up their spill. They released a chemical that congealed the oil . The oil congealed and just sank to the ocean bed. They didn't clean up ####. .

Different beast altogether. The drought can be maintained with people cutting water demands by 15 % to 20%. Eg dont fill up your pool , over water your lawn, take 5 to 10 min showers .

They also sprayed that chemical on clean up volunteers giving them awful chemical burns and illness. How in the hell is BP still allowed to exist? (I know, I know, power and influence)

What amazes me about this is you see all kinds of stuff like this happening in the US lately. This, the BP oil spill, the WVa company that had a spill into a major water reservoir (which meant that over 300K people went for a considerable amount of time with no potable water), an NC company that has spilled coal ash into water supplies there, quite a few notable train derailments in the last year or so--but all you hear from the very loud Tea Party types is that the solution to all of our problems is lowering EPA standards or getting rid of the EPA altogether!

These companies are halfassing it when the federal government is keeping an eye on them, I find it really hard to believe that they're going to keep even the same pathetic standards, let alone improve them, without some form of supervision.

I vote that all Republican/Conservative/Tea Party types have to go volunteer their time and resources to clean up these disasters, since they're so keen on letting multibillion dollar companies do whatever they want.
