With 17 alive, it takes 9 votes on any one player to hammer. It takes 6 votes to deadline lynch.

activeStick (1): squiggs96
I've moved the deadline back to Tuesday, May 26th at 10:00 PM. This the standard 5 day window for the day. I originally had it on Thursday because of a schedule conflict for me.
Hammer cannot be dropped before Friday, May 22nd at 10:00 PM Mountain Time.

We've got a few days, so I'll vote for an inactive player to try and draw some posts out. I will likely change my vote later, but have to start playing the game boys! (and girls)

For the record, I haven't posted much since I'm new to mafia and in a way different time zone than most of you, but I guess that hasn't stopped me from being a suspect.
It's all moot anyway since the space army is going to nuke our ship when they find it rather than risk contamination!

I really don't like this. If no one says anything scum win in a well designed game. It's only by forcing discussion that we can establish patterns as the game whittles down. The strategy that you and Seb are advocating plays into the hands of scum.
If no one is talking scum doesn't need to provide direction.

I'll be out camping to tomorrow and back Sunday, we should all have made our first vote by the end of Sunday (if not tmw) to stay on schedule.
I still think one of HG, Oling, or Bizaro is scum.
I don't like elephant he is feeling like newb scum trying to find a reason to lurke by jumping on sebs idea. He also says people are being suspicious of him from the best I can tell the only person who mentions him as suspicious was for not thanking Mazrims post which I even see as an accusation. So the comment is wierd.
I like girly as town, completely different gameplay from last time (although could just be experience). Have her as lean town.
Pux I have leaning town as well
Squiggs is rubbing me the wrong way again but I think it's how I react to his posting style rather than anything real. Would still like to know if the first vanilla post was intentional or not.
Not sure anything else is jumping out other than we need more post analysis and less game mechanic analysis as scum can just as easily speculate on optimal game theory as town can.
So right now my stongest suspicion is party elephant.

I'm not following. From my limited understanding of past mafia games, the scum pick someone to kill every night but isn't that different this time with it just being the spore passed around? I've just re-read the op for like the fourth time because I'm really confused about this and I don't understand your rush if I'm correct.

A classic retaliation vote, not sure if noob scum or just noob.
The spore has a 50/50 of causing a person to turn and switch sides. This change in win condition is permanent. This mean that as each night passes the scum gain .5 people so effectively it's 1 night kill per night as we lose 1, they gain 1 half of the time. If we do nothing scum wins quite quickly. The reason we need to get votes out is so we aren't forced into rash decisions at the deadline or miss the deadline which is advantageous for scum.

Not sure I understand the rush to vote either. If the deadline is Tuesday, why are some people suggesting voting tomorrow or Sunday at the latest?
I'm in Fernie this weekend but still checking in.

Here is my issue with the whole minimize "noise" nonsense.
Right now all but 3 (maybe 4) of us are passengers. If we talk now and hunt for hosts, point out posts that interest us then we have a record of how people behave. If someone is infected by the spore and their victory condition changes then maybe they act differently and we can pick up on it.
Thoughts on that SebC and Elephant?

I'll share my thoughts when I feel it advantageous to do so. If I explain my ideas fully before they can come to fruition, then they are less likely to yield the results I am seeking.
But I'll give you this much: "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

fair enough I know I haven't really contributed anything yet. Friday is always hectic for me and I was only online via phone most of the time yesterday. I have caught up with everything now though and should have more time over the next few days!

If PE were scum, would his scum buddies let him make a rash counter vote? Having not been a bad guy before, don't they usually talk it out first?

Yes but mistakes can still happen. The counter vote happened in 8 minutes.

If we all put a vote on someone we will likely get 2 or 3 front runners. It's unlikely we will have a majority at that point. So we need time to come to that majority. Giving us two days to work that out is helpful. You also want time to allow the lynchee to role claim and then decide what do to if they do claim a power role.
So with a Tuesday deadline, end of Sunday to have initial votes out gives us a day to get a majority and a day to deal with role claims.
