Maybe Stroman can pitch from his knees?
I'm 31 years old and I was in the 3rd grade when this team last made the playoffs. Talk about total bull####.

Why wasn't Gibbons and/or AA left in Houston?

Averaging 3 runs a game when you loose is not terrible.
How Gibbons has a job still is beyond me. Not saying it is his fault, but it's the only card left to play.

Chris Colabello is the clean-up hitter tonight and Josh Thole is batting sixth. Go ahead. Have at it. #Bluejays

I still don't see the reason to allow dickey to have thole as his personal catcher. The guy is god awful at almost every aspect of the game. You can't tell me Martin wouldn't be just as good as thole after catching dickey a few games.

Martin needs to rest at some point. You can't play 162 games as a catcher. Even Ivan Rodriguez topped out at 153 games during his career and that's an insane number. He's going to need to sit about 1/5 games. Until Navarro is back, I see no reason not to give Dickey his personal catcher. When Navarro returns, I expect that you'll see Martin begin catching Dickey and Navarro catching Buerhle.

A 2 run homer late in the game, but overall great game for Dickey. Goes the distance and gets the win........this team really, really needed that.

I agree Martin can't play the whole season, I wasn't implying that he could. I just hope your right that Navarro will slot in behind the plate once he's healthy enough and thole will go where he belongs in the minors.

Off topic I know, but looking for some sort of baseball related group here in town. Is there some sort of blue jays or mlb group in Calgary? Or a sabr (I.e. baseball stats) group in town? Or any other such thing?

Kawasaki brings so many intangibles to the table, he's his own restaurant.

Tom Dakers is from Calgary, I think. Someone who lives and breathes the Bluejays to that extent probably has something going on locally, but I wouldn't have the faintest clue where it would be. It's also possible that he is a transplant. In conclusion, I'm not much help.

With the current state of things in Bluejaysland, I was wondering who any compatible trade partners could be. I could actually see a situation where one of Bautista or EE are traded this year, but I wouldn't think both, as long as there is a chance at a resurgence. It is still to early to completely write the team off, but there are deficiencies that are going to keep this from being a playoff team.
Would something like this be out of line?
Bautista + 2 fillers (Albers and Carrera types) to Seattle for
2 of prospects DJ Peterson 3B/1B (at least a year away), Patrick Kivlehan 1B/OF (this year/safest bet), Gabriel Guerrero OF (high risk/high reward cousin of Vlad Jr./about a year away)
+
Carson Smith RP (considered future closer material/MLB now), Danny Hultzen SP (Dustin McGowan with 10X the upside)
This is keeping in mind that Seattle won't trade Jackson, Marte, Paxton, and Walker. And are still basking in the glow of Happ playing well. They seem to love the big hitting players with a history, and can use an outfielder. Jays get a high leverage RP to play now. Bautista heals his shoulder instead of playing, like he should be doing.
Yes, it's lunchtime and I'm bored.

When I saw that Colabello was hitting clean-up and Thole sixth I had to take a few minutes alone to mentally regroup, they won which is great but honestly that is not a Major League line up.
Maybe AA should bring Cito Gaston back now!

Is Gibbons trying to get fired?

I hate Hernandez's stupid neck tatoo and his inability to wear his hat straight.
Oh look!

Yeah, I saw that stat, but he is still fantastic in the field. Sitting the best all around player on your roster at this point of the season makes absolutely no sense to me.
