Just based on Murray's public whining, I'm actually glad they missed out on McDavid and Babcock.

I was under the impression that Tim Murray was the guy that brought Babcock into pro hockey when they were in Cincinnati....no?
But yes.....the snail comment is bang on. Dude is almost creepy.

Whoa, the sort of profound, terrifying paradox just struck me that would cause Stephen Hawking's brain to hurt.
Now, Leaf fans tell us that Babcock means a guaranteed Cup for the Leafs.
And Oiler fans tell us that McDavid means a guaranteed Cup for the Oilers.
Doesn't that mean there will need to be TWO STANLEY CUPS????
Or maybe string theory is correct, and alternate dimensions exist in which EACH OF BABCOCK AND MCDAVID WIN CUPS AT THE SAME TIME???
(Or maybe, just maybe, one fan base is going to be terribly disappointed. Again.)

Give it up already. Every thread that even sort of relates to the Sabres has the same people posting the same post verbatim over and over. We get it. You're annoying.

I for one enjoy all the attacks on Buffalo.
Tyler Ennis needs a haircut, and the GM is a less interesting Dwight Schrute! Their logo feels like a never ending work in progress, and they can't make the jersey not ugly. Sort of like the Canucks. Screw you Buffalo.

Really? Their logo and jersey's are one of the best in the league.

$$$ Good on Babcock getting all that cash. There is no way he can turn the Leafs around overnight but if they can unload bad contracts and the rebuild is patient Toronto could be a contending team before the 8 years is up. Of course the Leafs are never known for being patient so I wonder if they would stick with Babcock after 3 or 4 bad years.

You're bitching about a Flames board calling out the Sabres for tanking is quite annoying. Why don't you just ignore it?

Especially since I had to search quite a bit to find more than 2 posts in a large thread commenting on it

Regardless, you suggested he's going to "Mail it in" which is absolutely ridiculous on your part to suggest of one of the best coaches in the world.
He may have taken the most money and clearly has an uphill battle, but to suggest the guy isn't going to try and do his job to the best of his ability is asinine.

I've already posted this elsewhere. I don't have the same contempt for the Leafs as I do the Oilers and Canucks. Babcock bringing the Toronto Maple Leafs, an original six franchise, back to respectability would be best for business.

I think a big part of this is that it's now very expensive to get rid of the coach. This is a team of coach killers. Now that Babcock has the biggest contract on the team he's not going anywhere so he can do what he wants.

Babcock makes the Leafs more likable. I don't hate them like a lot of others do.
