You can enter your name (or anyone else's) and the year you were born and it will tell you where it ranked on that year's list of popular baby names and also show you what name is equally popular today.
696th in the year I was born.
Name today would be Benton
Name in the 2000s would be Favian
Name in the 1990s would be Jamario
Curious. Dorothy was the 705th most popular boy's name in 1950s? Without knowing the exact birthrate for that decade, that seems like quite a few boys were named Dorothy.

Dorothy was always more popular as a girl's name, but basically disappeared as a boy's name by the 1950s. I'm actually surprised at how quickly it dropped off as a girl's name in the 30s and 40s. You'd think there would have been a surge of popularity after the Wizard of Oz came out in 1939, but that actually seemed to kill it.

If that was the case then name him Jackson after Jackson Teller as the Jax nickname still sticks. I've seen a few of them in recent years but is Jaxon really even a name that goes back anywhere in history?
Man when I grew up there was never, ever another kid with my name. I expect in the 70's my name would have been out of top 500 for decades. Now my name is top 75 with the proper spelling. It's funny how names go through the cycle.

It seems as soon as SoA aired, shortly after there was a boom of Jax's and Jaxon's.
My name is Jason, and my wife was just commenting on how no one names their kid Jason anymore and how dated it is. Today's equivalent? "Mason". Now that's some creativity.

1985 Matt (#3) got me same modern name, and a some of Jason's, John and Rob/Robert's through the last century

Not "weird or ridiculous", but unintentionally funny given the context. I love that one of the VIP prize winners for the Princess Margaret Lottery is named; Anthony Ka Chi Ng.
