Default The Jade Helm conspiracy theory

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/wo...le-peddling-it

Quote:
Jade Helm 15 is a summer-long military exercise across several states, announced by the U.S. government. But one young man who works in the private-security industry sees something far more sinister stirring.

“It’s possibly a precursor to another world war,” said the 26-year-old Virginia native, who asked that his name not be used although it appears all over a popular Jade Helm chat site.

“We’re not sure. We don’t have any evidence.”

He and a posse of like-minded patriots aren’t taking any chances. They’re posting pictures of military vehicles on a Facebook page, documenting each suspicious sighting in the U.S. South.
It is a bit scary how a significant percentage of the population believes in these theories:

Quote:
A new poll suggests the theory has inched its way toward the mainstream of the Republican movement.

When asked whether the government was planning a takeover of Texas, 32 per cent of self-identified Republican primary voters replied, “Yes.” Forty per cent said no, according to the Public Policy poll of 1,285 respondents. The likeliest to respond in the affirmative were supporters of the presidential candidacies of Sen. Ted Cruz (56 per cent) and ex-governor Rick Perry (76 per cent).

The problem with jade helm is that they can't really say specifically what it is they are doing. They are training their special forces for sere type scenarios. The massive military exercise represents a foreign military. Inserted into this will be thousands of special forces whose goal will be to evade capture. To do this effectively, some of them may break the law in small ways. The military doesn't want to really advertise what the exercise is about. For sure it is not about practising for martial law.

People like conspiracy theories because it's more comforting to think that there is something in control, even if it's an evil global cabal of oligarchs, than the truth which is that there is a huge amount of randomness in our lives.

I am 100 percent certain that there will be another world war at some point. The only question is when.

So it's not really a conspiracy to prepare for it when it comes. Of course, the conspiracy theorists believe that the war itself is the goal, which I think is hooey.

Edit: I'm not even sure what they are suggesting actually. Something about the U.S. taking over..... the U.S.? And that will be a stage for a world war? Or is it the communists? I don't even think they know what the conspiracy is.

Civilized people don't go to war. Oppression and religion are the mother of most conflicts now, in the past and in the future.

I don't really buy that. I think the truth as portrayed by the most common sources is so often wrong that the people who think conspiracy theorists are nuts, (and they may be) actually might be the crazy ones.

I don't think Obama is prepping his secret military for his permanent take over in 16 months. I don't think WalMarts are closing and being retrofitted into FEMA camps. http://www.businessinsider.com/wal-m...-theory-2015-4 And I doubt China will show up in Texas asking for its money back any time soon.

But I also know that the same people who brought you Jessica Lynch, Pat Tillman, Osama Bin Laden, the Nayirah testimony, Weapons of mass destruction, The Innocence of Muslims, Project Northwoods, Project Hammer, The Gulf of Tonkin, JFK, Iran Contra, Pinochet, drugs, drugs and the war on drugs and on and on, are probably not the best source of truth.

The question isn't "Do the world's super elite conspire in secret societies on how to control global events." Because they absolutely do, we know the names of a few of these groups: Bilderberg, skull and bones, bohemia grove. There is a ton of historical documentation that the super elites have behaved this way in the past and there is also no denying that those currently on top also have the motivation, inclination and ability to conspire against the rest of us. People in every industry hold conventions in order to build contacts and share knowledge, why would the super elites be any different?

For me the question is "What are they really trying to accomplish and can they actually do it?" and "How much of this is just due to the inherently chaotic nature of human beings?" a distinction that those of us on the outside can not easily make.

Take a look at the world we live in, do you see a place that is run by well meaning people doing the best they can, or do you see a world run by inbred, psychopathic oligarchs?

It's typical right-wing nuttery about the federal government instituting martial law in the states, this time because the economy has tanked again ad/or Obama refuses to leave office.

Seriously.

Alex Jones speaks in nothing but buzzwords. Insiders, NSA "area", "open source documents". If you can't tell he's full of #### in 30 seconds there's something wrong with you.

And the one thing that all those groups have in common is that they are run by reptillians.

By that theory the Chamber of Commerce could be seen as a group of super elites trying to control the engines of business.

Its easy for any conspiracy theory to start with, all of these world leaders or rich people get together so it must be either evil or a part of the shadow government conspiracy.

Meanwhile at the Bohemia Grove is that some billionaire got loaded and pissed on a tree even though a sign was clearly posted asking people not to piss on the tree.

The Bohemia Grove has been infiltrated on more then one occasion, its basically a drunken frat party with networking. Where they start with a ceremony where they burn care.

On one end of the spectrum you have "We are ruled by inter-dimensional lizard beings" on the other hand you have "Everything is just chaos". I don't think we exist at either end of the spectrum, but trying to separate fact from fiction in an elite society that exists behind a myriad of closed doors quickly becomes an impossible task. It is never unwise to question the intentions and motivations of those who wield power over us, even if that forces one to consider possibilities that seem silly or impractical.

Just because something can be labelled as a conspiracy theory, doesn't mean it should be intellectually dismissed. When I was a kid "The US gov't assassinated MLK" and "The CIA pumped crack cocaine into black communities to fund illegal armies in South America" were considered wacko conspiracy theories, they are now considered well documented facts.

I used to think this, but now I am convinced it is simply because conspiracy theories are entertaining. I am interested in conspiracy theories not because I believe them, but because I am fascinated that so many seemingly intelligent people could believe such nonsense.

But this is over the top ignorance in the most literal sense of the word. On one end of the spectrum are people that believe everything is a conspiracy, they'll even belief the Earth is flat and that people are reading their minds.

On the other end people make absolute statements and are ignor ant of history. To insinuate every conspiracy ever is nonsense ignores every documented case of actual conspiration. You'd be better off believing the Earth is flat, you really would. Ignorance plagues society and we are much worse off for it. See no evil hear no evil isn't true, that just makes it stronger.

This conspiracy theory is of course bogus, but why exactly are special forces using a gun-toting soccer mom as their target?
