The only ones I can think of are nursing injuries or have other plans, like Johnny is enrolled at Boston College.
Besides, I think most countries dont call up players after the first round is over because the team has already played games together and its kind of low to call in new players and send players who have been with the team since the beginning home.
The Russians seem to be the exceptions to that.

Most teams have their roster locked after the first round ends.
Russia just knew that Ovi was going to end up available because he always ends up available, so they left a spot.

The Oilers go to this tournament so often I hear Skoda is trying to get naming rights to their new arena.

Hard to believe Crosby is doing so little...maybe he's lost his edge, bell rung too many times and has just lost a step?

Yes. You make available glorious championship, or KGB to come visit your family.

There is nothing he has not done.
I wonder if the urgency and desire just isn't what it was. He goes hard now, gets his bell rung and loses two or three years off his career and misses out on how much money?
He has no reason to do it. The endorsements won't leave. He'll never make less than the league maximum at the time he signed the contract. Why risk it?

Great game so far between Canada and Czech Republic
Canada up 1-0 but has been a fast paced game with many chances for each side.

Brutal no goal on a "crease violation" when the skate was maybe touching blue paint but didn't touch smith voids an ugly Smith Softie (tm)

It was brutal. Wasn't even close to touching the goalie.

Brutal call that should have been reversed on a review.

Goofy interpretation of silly rules has long been an IIHF hallmark. Add in that this year's officiating has been unusually atrocious, and well...

Eichel with a brutal give away in his own zone to make the game 3-0 for the Russians.
