Provocative title, but, some really worrisome stuff for Jeb to say.
Quote:
“I like Charles Murray books to be honest with you, which means I’m a total nerd I guess,” Bush said.
Charles Murray is a darling of the right-wing because of his book “The Bell Curve” which declares that black people are not as smart as white people because of their inferior genes. No, seriously, that’s exactly what the book is about. Here’s what the Southern Poverty Law Center says about Murray:
According to Murray, disadvantaged groups are disadvantaged because, on average, they cannot compete with white men, who are intellectually, psychologically and morally superior. Murray advocates the total elimination of the welfare state, affirmative action and the Department of Education, arguing that public policy cannot overcome the innate deficiencies that cause unequal social and educational outcomes.
As you can imagine, this speaks deeply to the unmitigated racism of the conservative movement. I regularly see right wingers cite his work and claim, in the same sentence, that they’re not racist at all. They just think black people are inferior. What’s racist about that?
In a sane world, a presidential candidate endorsing a White Supremacist would be the immediate end of their bid for the White House. It would be like a Democratic candidate endorsing Louis Farrakhan. But, of course, this is the real world and Republicans are held to a radically different standard. The “liberal” media would rather slit their wrists than point out the blindingly obvious racism of Republicans.
This guy is loopier than Cruz, and that's saying something. Sarah Palin might as well throw her name in the hat now. No way she's the worst GOP option at this point!

Huckabee is a Shyster.
His reserves must be running low.
His only interest in this is lining his pocket books. He'll run, make appearances, raise money, then drop out and look for a cheque from someone else for his endorsement.
It's his standard playbook.

Sometimes I think it might be neat to use my dual citizenship to go down and live/work in the US.
Then I read stories like the one about Jeb Bush and it pushes me all the way back to one toe on the fence of renouncing my citizenship. That place is an ideological disaster.
This could be an interesting exercise in how you frame things since Charles Murray also has attached his name to support for gay marriage.
JEB BUSH SUPPORTS GAY MARRIAGE
That doesn't play well with his merry band of supporters.
Ya the problem with that though is you can believe in a lot of wonderful things but as soon as you publicly espouse the righteousness of white supremacy... you use up all your good will.
Kinda like saying ... Hey... Stalin starved millions of Ukrainians to death... but the man had an amazing mustache and great ideas about public works

He works for Faux and after this he will have a higher paid job at Faux, book deals and maybe his own website like Sarah Palin did.
In an effort to aid and inform local residents ahead of next year’s presidential election, officials at urban polling centers across the nation recommended Thursday that those intending to cast ballots in 2016 should begin lining up now. “Most polling locations will close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, so in order to ensure you have enough time to cast your vote, we suggest looking up your precinct online and planning to arrive sometime in the next few minutes,” Federal Election Commission spokesperson Judith Ingram said in a statement, noting that voters should be prepared for lines at inner-city polling locations that may back up as many as 12,000 or 13,000 hours.
“If possible, we suggest notifying your employer that you need to take some months off from your job, or arrange to leave early from work this afternoon and return after the election is over.” Officials added that those urban residents unable to vote in person should file an absentee ballot every week for the next 18 months in case the first few dozen become lost in the mail.

I think they ended his show a while back.

Today is the 30 Year Anniversary of Operation: M.O.V.E., an FBI led sting operation against a black power community group that ended after the FBI dropped 2 incendiary bombs on a row house complex in Philadelphia, killing 11 people, destroying a neighbourhood and leaving more than 250 people homeless.
There is a documentary about it that is free to view on youtube, it's one of the best documentaries to be released in 2013 and one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.

In the astonishingly gripping Let the Fire Burn, director Jason Osder has crafted that rarest of cinematic objects: a found-footage film that unfurls with the tension of a great thriller. On May 13, 1985, a longtime feud between the city of Philadelphia and controversial radical urban group Move came to a deadly climax. By order of local authorities, police dropped military-grade explosives onto a Move-occupied rowhouse. TV cameras captured the conflagration that quickly escalated—and resulted in the tragic deaths of eleven people (including five children) and the destruction of 61 homes. It was only later discovered that authorities decided to “…let the fire burn.”

Meh. I don't mean to be flippant as obviously lives were lost but it's clear the administration didn't know about the attack beforehand despite what the right wing site headlines want to say (SMOKING GUN!!!). The text of the stories makes it clear the report wasn't given to the administration until after the attack. There may have been growing instability and that may have been known and security was stepped up I believe but an actual attack was not known about beforehand.
Afterwards on who was responsible there might be some fishy stuff going on but that isn't that unusual nor is it necessarily a terrible thing. Who knows what other intelligence was coming in at the time. Who knows the ebbs and flows of what was going on. All that is happening is the right wing is continually moving the goal posts on what somebody was responsible for. When it comes down to it there are enough republicans that sit on these same committees so if there is some culpability it is shared with the entire government not just the administration.

Unless I'm reading this wrong the report that details the a potential attack was known about was provided to administration a day after the attack actually occurred.
Yes that's right. That means the official loud and clear explanation...

"I'm saying that based on information that we – our initial information, and that includes all information – we saw no evidence to back up claims by others that this was a preplanned or premeditated attack; that we saw evidence that it was sparked by the reaction to this video. And that is what we know thus far based on the evidence, concrete evidence
...is a total lie...right around election time too. Now that we know that was a lie, it casts doubt on the whole "we had no idea" paradigm...the fall back explanation for stuff like this. Once again, the most sophisticated intelligence network on the planet has no idea what's going on even when they get requests for increased security from their own embassy in Libya. Sounds very familiar.
And then the stuff about running guns through Libya.
