I didn't even read the first post just the thread title.
That being said, was it really worth the 30 seconds of your life to beef over this?

Poirier for me, if we aren't including Bennett.

I would say this as well. Watched ALOT of Ac here in Victoria. Tough nosed player with some decent hands. I'm hoping for a Bouma V2 with more scoring.

Let's see:
6'3 / 205lbs
Team corsi goes way up when Drew Shore is on the ice (like, this guy is in Backlund/Brodie/Gio/Byron territory for this team)
Right-handed shooter.
Solid on the face-off dot.
One of only like, four players in our whole system that seems to be able to successfully run an offensive zone cycle (and of those, Monahan plays on a line where he doesn't do that much). That Ferland goal in the Nashville game was the kind of shot creation we have simply not gotten this season from the rest of the team.
His takeaway on the Jooris breakaway, game 1 of the Anaheim series.

Bennett is not a prospect. 4G 1A in 11 playoff games... Blues fans would love that production from their veterans.

Did it really anger you that much?
Back on track, I'll go with Poirier too.

Gillies is the only prospect not with the team right now that I think has elite potential. I am excited to see who we pick up this draft. Also looking forward to Klimchuck turning pro and Porier pushing for a spot

He's really flown under the radar for Flames fans, to the point where he's often a throw-in on trade proposals. I haven't seen him play at all but he's apparently a coach's dream. Can play with anyone, anywhere in the lineup. Lots of jam, excellent hockey iq and very responsible. I was really looking forward to getting a good look at him last prospect camp and in Penticton, but hopefully he'll be healthy this year.

Hahaha I honestly came in here to say Ehlers, without understanding that the thread was restricted to Flames prospects.
The Flames have plenty of good prospects but now that Gaudreau has graduated there's no one who even approaches the excitement level of Ehlers.

You'd take him over Sam Bennett as a prospect?

See, sometimes you just have to be captain obvious or else you have people answering questions like CorsiHockeyLeague.

Beside Bennett being the obvious one, I'll also go with Poirier. I like his overall game and he seems to be trending up. I would not be shocked to see him make the team as early as next season.

Surprised so many said Hickey. Clearly I need to get myself more educated on this guy.

No, Bennett will be a better player, but for pure excitement of watching him? Playing style? Yeah.
I mean, I'd also take Tavares over Johnny, but there's no question who's more fun. It's like prime Datsyuk vs. prime Crosby.

1. Jankowski. There's some serious potential yet to be tapped there. I suspect we will not see the offense develop or show itself until he turns pro, I just do not think the Providence system allows for that aspect of his game to shine. What we have seen though out of him offensively, quite honestly it is beautiful and dynamic. He has some serious playmaking ability.
2. Gillies. His AHL development may take a couple of seasons but if he hits his ceiling, look out!
3. Brandon Hickey. I wasn't expecting the attention he received in his first year in Boston. If his progression rate keeps going like this, holy moly do we have a heck of a steal.
4. Kenney Morrison. Made a nice impact in his shortened debut in the AHL. Excited to see what a summer with Flames training staff will do for him.

For me it's Poirier and Hunter Smith. Even if Smith never gets 10 goals, the idea of a 6'7'' beast crushing people from line 3/4 gets me more excited than it probably should. Can't wait to hear the future whining from Canuck/Oiler fans over Smith being mean to their players.
The amount of graduations this team has had in the last two seasons is stunning. Now our prospect pool is starting to look a little weak but that is because so many former prospects are actually playing on the big club and contributing. Luckily the system is going to get a huge shot in the arm in a few weeks. Great time to be a Flames fan.

Definitely. I guess I would put him 5th on my list. Totally forgot about him.
Still think there's an air of Al McInnis around this guy.

After Bennett probably Gillies... what's not to like about a 6'5 goalie with athletic ability.
