1 good game from Ramo = Hiller signing was a mistake, trade him at the deadline or in the off-season.

Fact is our goaltending tandem helped get us into the playoffs. It wasn't a particularly great tandem, and neither goalie ever really stepped up and took over the role as #1, but as a tandem they helped us get to where we were.
The POs were a microcosm in that Hiller was great against vancouver, until he wasn't and then Ramo won it. Ramo was great against the Ducks, but was starting to flag a bit IMO.

Treliving's comment on Wotherspoon coming in with mentality to win a spot, and not go home with Flames branded underwear is gold. lol

I don't think the Flames make the playoffs, let alone win a playoff round without Hiller.

The Ducks had his number (not surprising as they know his tendencies) but great signing on the whole.

I also like how he said that Spooner has to come in ready to grab a spot and he will. He showed confidence that his young defenseman will come in next year ready to give the coaches and management hard decisions.

Did he say that's what Wotherspoon had to do? Or that Wotherspoon had that attitude already?

Considering the Goalie trade market is going to be down this year, as in there will not be many buyers, I can fully see Ramo hitting the market. Contractually, Trelivings decision seems pretty straight forward and easy to make. Hiller is capable and Ortio needs his chance. And Treliving said they won't be moving kids out.

Treliving is chewing gum yet drinking water. Just a quirky observation.

Hartley is looking pretty intense too.

That is what he told Wotherspoon, then he said that Wotherspoon will do it.

Team's biggest weakness?

Hartley: don't believe the team had any weaknesses

then the stream craps out

No no, not at all, he meant it as the process a player goes through, first time you come to cmp youre happy to break in new gear. second year you're happy to go home with Flames undies, but in your 4th camp Lie spooner is coming into this year, you have to come in ready to battle. Said that Wotherpoon has a full summer to commit and be ready, didn't have that last year with the shoulder injury, like Backlund, didn't get a good rhythm from missing camp.

Treliving on areas that need to improved:

blueline - need to be deeper in that position. upgrade might be [bigger roles for] Wotherspoon or Schlemko or come from outside.
top 3 guys looked like drowned rats after games

need to spend more time in offensive zone (i.e. Possession)
doesn't mean they will air lift 15 guys in... might be some adjustments internally

I have always been impressed with how Treliving breaks the game down.

Would like to combine footspeed and size. Kings and Jets are big teams that can skate.
Please. PLEASE. PLEASE stick to that.

The best part of that Bob-ism was Treliving's face as he said it. He was killing himself trying not to laugh his ass off.
