What really cost the Flames is really their soft defensive plays. Cripes, they run around their own zone continuously. You can point out how bad that penalty is by Colborne, but this defensive corps is too damn small against any of the top elite teams.

The positive is that over the last three games the Flames have shown that they can play the best team in the West, that bodes well for the future.

When your playing a very good team like the Ducks your margin for error is next to zero, and young teams like the Flames make mistakes.

But I have a feeling that there will be another game at the dome this year.

how Perry can get away with blatant calls really reflects poorly on the refs.... very incompetant... the interference at center ice... cmon

Flames have been coming back all year, what's one more comeback? Rather than it being a game, we have to comeback in a series. I don't see why we can't do it. The Flames have been such a resilient team. Lay it all out there, boys. I expect the Flames won't let the Ducks take this series so easily.

We did better against the Ducks than Winnipeg. That's one thing they'll NEVER take away from us!!!!

Well they're against the wall now, they've been in the position where they needed to finish a team off and did it, now they need to win out to stay alive. This is how teams learn what it takes to win the ultimate prize. We are playing with house money right now. Regardless of how game 5 turns out, the Flames have already scored a major win this season. Anyone who counts them out are foolish and will regret it.

As the old Spartan saying goes, "with your shield, or on it".

Whether it be an unlikely Flames series victory, a Hawks victory, or a SCF victory by the Eastern team, I'm going to enjoy trolling Kesler, Perry, and whiny Getzlaf when they lose. Twitter can make me feel better heh

To be fair, the Flames have made no sense all year long.

Expected to compete for McDavid? Win games.
Lose 4-5 roster players? Keep on winning.
Lose Giordano? Stay the course.

Why stop now?

Game that could have been. Missed opportunities, horrible refs, and a stupid penalty. Not to mention, a bad giveaway from Johnny! Disappointing game to say the least considering we were in it for the majority of this game! Biggest take away, if there is to be one, is that the Ducks won without being the better team, at least in my opinion the Flames were the better team tonight....Anderson made some big saves and the Ducks capitalized in their few opportunities.

All we have left to hope for is that the curse gets broken on Sunday! And if any team can do it I Boblieve it's this one! The season ain't over til its over and these guys have given us much to appreciate this season and lots of reasons to keep believing in them.

It was a good game unfortunately two mistakes by young guys cost us the game. Gaudreau was playing well until that stickhandling close to their goal. He would thrown the puck to the board but he stickhandled it instead. Joe Colborne on the unnecessary hit at the end of the 2nd period was terrible. I am not really scrutinized much on that hit because he's been physical all night and I thought he was playing well. I hope both guys learned from that mistakes and comes out gunning next game and atone from their mistakes.

I can't believe the Ducks especially Corey Perry got away with a lot of interference. Him and Kesler are getting freebies from the refs tonight. Not saying the refs cost us the game but that was just way too much interference. The only thing I don't mind was the refs just let the players take care of the game.

Does anyone notice that Lance Bouma was not playing late in the game? Sam Bennett replaced him on the line with Backlund and Colborne. Did he get hurt? Ticked off at the lost but I am pleased that they played well all night (take off those dumb mistakes). They were very physical and you would think the Flames are much bigger than the Ducks the way they played tonight. Not throwing the towel yet because I know we will see Game 6 here in Calgary if they play like tonight on Game 5.

We need to learn to play dirty. This team suffered from being squeaky clean all season. Everything goes in the playoffs. Have to bring that experience into next season and run a #### load of interference in game 5 and in any future playoff games.

You mean Mike Johnston. He's terrible. He wasent much better of a player. He still holds records within the Phoniex organization. Which is not saying much.
