I've heard broken thumb from someone who talked to Bouma's brother.

Of course they care.

Sure, their primary concern is their own lineup. But imagine you're the coach, and the other team dresses a new player that brings a different element. And that new player catches your team off guard. If that happens, you have failed as a coach. Period.

Of course they know who he is. They know every player in the organization and what that player brings to the table. It's their job.
Sure you prepare. I don't think you "game plan" to neutralize Bouma. But my point is, if you prepare for a superior player in case he plays, it's not a bad thing. So Hartley pretending Bouma is going to play and putting him in practice for that purpose, in order to fool the Ducks, makes little sense.

Bouma is practicing as part of his rehab. "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" Sigmund Freud.

I don't think that Bouma coming in and crashing would help the Flames.

The Jets were significantly more physically challenging to the Ducks than the Flames can possibly be.

The edge that the Flames have on the Ducks is skating and puck movement ... that is the kind of game that the Flames have the best chance to win.

They go toe-to-toe physically with the Ducks and they will come in second.

Bro, Bouma is not a goon, he was 4th in points among forwards on the team. Only the top line (that was lights out) had more points among forwards.

Bouma belongs on the 2nd line.

Bouma is very good at those things too, very good and the Ducks won't be able to throw him around, and if he lays some out as well, then extra spacalty bonus.

Turnovers via hard forechecking is crucial, that's Boumas game. Getting him back would be huge.

Given Bouma's interview yesterday, he looked like a kid who just got an Xbox for Christmas but then his distant relative phoned to wish him a Merry Christmas. All he can imagine is playing the Xbox, so he's smiling the whole time.

Game 4 is his Xbox, and he is excited as heck to get to play

I'm certain he's in.

Yes. There's a reason the 4th line and Stajan's line have been arguably more effective than the top line. The Ducks have had an easy time exiting the zone against the Monahan and Backlund line in large part.

That shouldn't be the first line's role. They've been unable to carry it in and that's where the real problem lies. They aren't letting Johnny carry it
