Haha! Okay. I'll actually get 2, one for the office and one for the games.
I have all of my soccer scarves on a wall at my office.

My team is having an exhibition game vs Foothills Thursday night @ 7:45, soccer centre turf fields.
Really wish I would have gone for at least ONE run since provincials last month to keep up with these lil twerps! Should be fun though. If anyone wants to come watch, I would like to request a Sportif Foot Soldiers group.

So if anyone is interested in following the Calgary Foothills W-League team, they are having their first friendly July 3 against SoCal Selects. Haven't announced where yet.

We lost 3-0 to Foothills last night in a pretty good game. Was 0-0 at half, after they carried the play in the 1st. Strangely enough, we really carried the play in the 2nd but our fitness (lack of) really cost us on 2 of the 3 goals. It's very evident they are training hard, as they're extremely fit, and it was very evident that was our first time playing in a month.
Lots of speed on that team, but I think they may have troubles scoring goals, although I have no idea what their competition in the PDL will look like. Their back line is quite solid, having two big centre backs who have good foot skills as well. They move it pretty well out of the back. I would say their best player is a kid that played centre mid, not sure his name as I've never seen him before. He has great distribution and will hit it from anywhere. He couldn't find the target last night, but you can tell by his shot that he will find the target. Lanky kid, but has a heavy shot and isn't afraid to get stuck in against bigger players.
Time will tell, but like I said, I think they may struggle to score goals, as they don't seem to have a natural goal-scorer up front. It was a fun game to play and apparently we're going to have more friendlies with them throughout the year.
On another note, those turf fields at the soccer centre are BY FAR the best turf fields I've ever played on. The ball doesn't bounce around like it does on typical turf fields (ie shouldice), and it rolls more like it would on grass. I was really impressed actually.

Exhibition game this Saturday vs. FC Edmonton Academy. 2:15 - Stampeder Field at Shouldice. Looks like it's season ticket holders only (interesting)

Scarves are in! (spoiler for size and blurriness). Our guy in Medicine Hat placed the order, so they will be in Calgary for the May 17 game.
Also, I'm hearing there's an exhibition the weekend of May 9, so I'll keep folks posted here on details for that. As well, the ladies team will hold their first exhibition May 8 at 7 pm at Encana Field.

How did they decide on a green color scheme? Should all Calgary teams be red?

Yes they should. So should the Raptors.
A Calgary team should be red.

I've been helping with the start up of Foothills WFC. The team features U-17/U-20 international Sarah Kinzner and NCAA standout Yvonne Northover as their captain. Their season opener Friday, 7:30 at Encana.
Hope some supporters can make it out!

Although I'd prefer to support a team wearing red, I admire the fact that they are an established club and come with an actual history. Unlike TFC, they are a proper football club.

I'll second that. Calgary Foothills predates the Flames, Roughnecks, Hitmen, Cannons, etc. Everyone but the Stampeders. It's different from the traditional club which starts from the top club and grows the academy after.
