I forget which hand it was... but I think the speculation being either he landed weird on his hand, or the puck actually hit his hand rather than chest in that game. Not sure what it was though. We just know there was evidence of his hand in a cast.

Since Ferland and Bennett were kind of late additions to the team, we haven't even seen this full team together yet. Kind of exciting because we don't know what our full lineup is capable of.

If we are all speculating on a possible Gio return, even if they say otherwise, then the Ducks must be too. That tiny little seed of nervousness for them of having a Norris-quality defenseman returning for the Flames might be worth all the song and dance, if it is in fact such.

I think that practicing with Gio is good for the team and good for Gio, even if he's not close to returning.

If Gio is cleared for full contact, I think that means he's cleared by the doctors and it's just a matter of regaining strength in order to be 100%. Of course, Gio at 80% is still a very attractive option -- I just don't think he's there yet.
Yeah, that turned into one of those pass the secret around the camp fire and see what it turns into.

Taking a little contact in the corners isn't full contact.

I noticed Boudreau and another person (assistant?) out studying, very intently, who was on the ice for Calgary during the practise skate before the last game. It seemed obvious that they were very concerned who was going to be in Calgary's lineup.

A sudden return of Bouma, Ferland or Giordano may require an adjustment in their style of game. Ferland was out skating, but never played.

So there was no Ferland on the ice?

Not singling you out, there has been dozens of similar posts, but the spy stuff is comical.
The Ducks do not care, except that they'd rather he not play. The only thing they do different if Gio plays is have Kesler slash him on the arm several times a shift (instead of slashing Monahan).
The Ducks do not know who Lance Bouma is. They might learn the hard way, but it would currently be next to last on their list for anything to do with a game plan. Or actually last.

But then are they not pumped and happy when he doesn't play?

This is almost an identical lineup to what some of us believed at the start of the season might be iced by the Flames, and be McDavid territory. How cool is it that we're now drooling over the same fricken lineup?
Edit: Sorry, already said almost word-for-word

They do know who Lance Bouma is, they've played against him a few times this season. They probably are watching closely as to who could draw in to our line up and who might not.

Don't get it.

"Look's like Bouma might play, let's get ready for him."

"Oh, he's not playing, so our preparation for a hard forecheck and hitting is useless and we are therefore unprepared for Mason Raymond to come down the wing".

It is also about information overload. A lot of work goes into game plans. Various coaches review and go through tons of information for meetings to present to the players. This gamesmanship is all about making them do extra work for potential situations.
