Just as an add on, the President of NBC (i think) mentioned that a major plothole in AOU will be explained in Agent's of Shield.

Guardians of the Galaxy made more money than Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, etc. Next to the Avengers, it's almost their top grossing movie.

Just got back, great movie. So many great moments but I had one question and this was it.. I don't watch AofS, was there any tie ins at all?
Maybe spoiler it for others in case.
The cameos were handled well, the table is set for Civil War with Hulk and Thor gone.

Yeah this is just the highest opening weekend, i.e., the most hyped before their debut... prior to the comic book movies taking over all these charts it was effectively a measurement of teeny boppers, but now only one HP remains. GotG got great reviews and people went back to see it multiple times so it had good legs and ended up making a ton of money.
Highest grossing movie of all time is Avatar, but its opening weekend ranks only 63rd.

Finally had the chance to go see it. Loved it.
Loved: Hulk, Hulk vs. Iron man, Scarlet Witch, Ultron's charisma, The Vision was awesome.
Liked: Hawkeyes plot line, Stark and Banner being Nerd bros, Thor and Stark having a girlfriend-off.
Disliked: Captain America. just does not do it at ll for me. Never was my one of my favorites. The whole Black Widow and Banner/Hulk relationship thing. There were honestly some really good lines to come out of it but found it really lame over all.
Quicksilver, I think we were spoiled rotten with the X-Men version of Quicksilver. They really should've kept that guy in the role.
Tacky: Iron Patriot. Somewhere they lost his vibe. I loved Cheedle doing the role in Iron man 2 and 3 but this time around it was a whole bag of meh. Black Widow, if I had a dime for every time I heard "Hey there big guy". I'd have a lot of dimes.
Hate: The whole let's move the most important thing in the back of a movng truck thing that was regurgitated in this one from the first movie. Probably my only qualm about the whole movie.
Ragnarok is going to be awesome I think. The Thor bits kept me intrigued about that movie for sure.

Was a good movie, I enjoyed it but it definitely had flaws.
First, most of the jokes were actually quite bad and distracting. There were some funny jokes but man, you have to deliver on the jokes otherwise they can really mix up the flow.
The story was discombobulated and really broke down in the last third. Why did Thor go to the pool? Nothing really made sense with the Vision character. Hawkeye was all built up and then there was no pay off with him. It seemed like alot of the joining scenes were cut to bring the movie length down.

One of the things I really admired from Marvel this time around was Quicksilver's death. They had the balls to kill off a character Avenger, albeit a newly developed one, but I still felt it so kudos to them.
Little east egg, on the shirt of Hawkeyes newborn son it says his name, the first one is after Black Widow, the second one was Pietro.

It was pretty good, but there did seem to be too much cut so it seemed disjointed in some places and under cooked in others.
The biggest disappointment though was with Black Widow, I was hoping for more with her back story stuff.
Hopefully a directors cut makes it to Blu-ray.

Kind of a mess of a movie. Plot jumps all over the place at light speed, villain didn't make any sense and actually kind of sucked (and his plan was stupid, make a meteor out of a big piece of ground?)
There's only so long one can watch CG people beating up CG robots that all look the same and are completely incompetent. That final fight was like Dynasty Warriors Marvel edition.
Also one plot point drove me crazy: why would Ultron kidnap and hold Black Widow? His plan is to kill all the Avengers and all of humanity, and when he finally gets a clear crack at one he just... Does nothing. Takes her for no reason what so ever -- she wasn't instrumental to his plan succeeding or something. Then she signals the rest of the team the location of his secret base. Just a shoe horned in plot device. Also, when/how did he become a sweet robot? At first he was crappy spare parts, they blew him up, then like two minutes later he was some awesome robot in that crappy city.

For your last point... The Hydra guys had a robotics program of their own. When ultron's first body was destroyed, he used the internet to travel their and inhabit the robots there.

Most importantly - why do we never find out if Tony Stark fixed the tractor?

Just saw it last night. My thoughts:
I thought it was better than the first one story wise. Not having to explain all of them coming together and their personal clashes and stuff I think really helped them look at a story arc with larger complications and importance. Really like all the IA/how far should we take science? themes.
I thought Spader was really good, but unexpected. I thought he would be more Shakesperian. But him having Tony's personality makes sense. I thought Ultron's look was just OK though. He looked a bit disproportionate. I liked the backstories for Nat and Hawkeye. At first I was rolling my eyes a bit at it, but I think it gave them more importance in the team, which is nice. Widow's arc with Hulk really added some emotional depth to both of them.
You can really see the prep for the Cap-Stark conflict. Rogers has some great lines all the way through, including in his own movies. He's very much the moral compass of the team.
I thought it nailed it's intended tone, even though it went through a few different ones. The jokes landed well when they were made, and the serious parts helped exentiuate each team members personal struggle with everything. The cameos, particularly War Machine, were great.
Vision was awesome. Don't really know what else to say than that. "Yes, he hates you the most." Perfect. I also thought the Maximoffs were very well done and was surprised to see Quicksilver die (although not sure how anyone can with that skin graft thing). I thought if anyone was going to die, it would have been Hawkeye after all the stuff with his family.
Anyways, a big thumbs up for me. I'll likely see it again pretty soon. So many possibilities.

Hawkeye got clipped, Quicksilver got lit up with like 3 center mass bullets. That machine wasn't going to do him any good unless it was right beside him when it happened.

More than 3, I'm thinking. Dude was full of holes.

My thought is that Thanos will revive Quicksilver and control him in the Avengers movie using Infinity stones, a way to take Scarlet Witch out of the equation and make her go crazy during the battle with the new Avengers.
Comic book reasoning below.
Personally I was a fan of the move, but think it will really benefit from a directors cut. IMO some of the holes were strictly driven by the cuts that were made by the studio (Specifically the part where Thor goes into the water).
