There were a couple attempts early in the 1st. The section I was in started with "Andersen", then switched to "Freddie" when other sections were using that.

I was mentioning that to my brother at the game last night: they have this incredible shell going around Andersen. The Ducks can keep up with the Flames in skating and typically have a 1-2-2 defence going. They generally have 3 guys back by Andersen by the time the Flames get into any scoring position, will cut down the shot angles as the remaining forwards hustle back, and all five players box out the smaller Flames forwards off any rebounds.

What I got out of the game: Full team effort. Goals from players on each line. All three D pairings were working. Goalie made saves when he needed to.

Calgary was really lucky to get that late 5-on-3. Yes, Andersen flopped, but after the Flames crash the crease, that easily could have been one Flame in the box. Instead they fortuitously get 4-on-4. Then the duck defenseman bats it out of the air to get a delay of game. --I've always hated that interpretation. I think if a player bats it out of the air out of the rink, that should not go for a penalty. The penalty should be for players who have the puck on the ice on their stick.

We can moan about the disallowed goal, but I still give Andersen credit. If his reaction is a splitsecond late, then it goes the other way.

I finally replaced my old cursed Iginla jersey with a Gaudreau jersey yesterday before the game... Best financial investment of the year

I hate how goalies automatically get the benefit of the doubt. The way I see it, Andersen could've been called for a dive there. He's clearly been watching Kesler all year and taking pointers.

The best part is how soul-crushing that win was.

They had it, they figured the whole thing was in the bag, the caught a break with the BS disallowed goal and just needed to see it through to the end.

Then Johnny scores and they end it in OT real fast.

They've been beaten. They can be beaten. They'll be beaten again.

I thought we did a way better job of fighting our way to the net. The Ducks' D still tied us up well, but we are now in the neighbourhood for rebounds and screens.

2 more off days for Jiri And Monahan to heal up. To me, Hudler looks like he's on the upswing and possibly starting to feel more like himself. That shot he ripped just wide from the slot in traffic late in the game was something we haven't seen for a while.

Here's a pretty cool write up from the ARZ blogger on hockeybuzz. Always cool to see people with no real vested interest in this series give their take. Especially when it favors your team.

How about when Andersen tripped Stajan and he fell into a Duck behind the net and got a penalty?

Hey guys, what was the song they were playing when Johnny tied it up? They were sitting on the bench waiting for the ice to get cleaned and the fans were going ballistic to it?. It's a dance track.

Oh is that what that is? I guessed it referred to The Mighty DucKs, which I found to be inappropriate. Plus it is black and orange. (I haven't followed pro wrestling since Virgil turned against The Million Dollar Man.)

Agreed that was my favorite as well. His initial celebration is great too. Looks like he's just trying to reach as high as he can.

And Despres clothes lined Stajan. It wasn't a shove or a cross check it was an arm to the throat, obviously that's a call. I've seen multiple people say we were lucky but if penalizing a wrestling move is lucky that's kind of sad.
