I didn't vote. I don't complain about the political parties, so I don't vote. In Nova Scotia, where I grew up, a different party wins every time there's an election, like magical chairs, it never made a difference.

Hate to be that guy, but...

I remember being in law school in 2005ish when Harper won the election. Classmates thought their lives were over and were almost in tears. It didn't really chnage my life at all. Taxes go up or down a little, some social programs are enhanced or scaled back, but mostly some people just seem to really personally hate certain leaders. My life isn't really going to change based on who is elected.

Agreed. Municipal elections is what really matters if you want to see day-to-day changes on a personal level. That's why the Calgary city elections are hella fun to pay attention to. Plus no party politics!

You say that now, but when you run out of toilet paper, don't come here crying about how your cornhole is chaffed because of a vicious scrubbing from -4 ply newspaper.

Yeah that's only slightly better than the usual reason given for not voting.

It doesn't bother me if people choose not to vote. If someone isn't engaged in politics, doesn't follow the campaign, doesn't know the party platforms and the merits of their local candidates, then by all means stay home. Let the election be decided by the people who choose to inform themselves and care about voting.

Nose-Hill

I voted PC.

I'll echo the disappointed couldn't give AP some popular vote support, I like their positive outlook, even if some of it is pie in the sky.

I'm really hoping it is a minority government with representation from all 5 parties (sorry greens you don't count). I also really hope the Wild Rose does much worse than expected.

Had an argument with an older guy at work about this today. He says people died so you could vote you have to.

I said if you go in there uninformed and just check some random box aren't you defeating the purpose of democracy. Democracy is where the largest number of people make the right choice for themselves insuring the choice that is made benefits the most possible people, if you don't have a strong opinion on what the best choice is than your vote is likely to evade that intent.

Voted Wildrose in Calgary - Shaw. Our previous MLA (Jeff Wilson) actually did a really good job but I really couldn't bring myself to vote PC this time around and I sure as hell didn't want the NDP.
