This Wednesday is McHappy Day, so that is the one day I will make a point of going. Otherwise I will only stop there a couple times a year; there are other places I prefer.

I loved the chicken mcnuggets for a long long time.
Then they decided to shrink each one by 25% or so. It's so thin, and it's just so noticeably smaller than what it used to be. I swear the 10 nugget box used to be what the 6 nugget box was in.
Then the last time I went, I noticed the 20 mcnugget pack price was raised 20 cents, for the same aforementioned thin, unfulfilling pieces.
I used to go a lot, but I'm done with them forever. I'm sure many other places pursue the crap out of making things as cheap as possible, but it doesn't feel as obvious as it does at Mcdonalds.
Meh, you can do some pretty cheap heavy protein, low carb meals. I'm on a student budget most of the time and get away with it. Hell, you can get a double meat, chopped salad at Subway for like $7. I know salads are lame, but I'm just saying. The first fast food chain that can make decent, low-carb meals is gonna get a tonne of my money because I'm hardly ever home to make my own meals.
It would be nice if we had Chipotle in Calgary. Like the salad from Subway, you can get a double meat burrito bowl, saving the empty calories from the tortilla and getting good carbs from the beans and good fat from the guacamole.

Still miss McDonaldland Cookies. Those were awesome. Also, the pizza was sofa king good - I still remember what it tasted like and I miss it every time I'm there. Pepperoni pizza, fries and cookies was a magical combination.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Chipotle pops up soon . They just opened up one in Vancouver. They are a coming folks.

not a new video, but Bro Science weighs in on the comparative macronutrient value of Chipotle, Subway and McDonalds. since we don't have Chipotle here, does Mucho Burrito count as a viable substitute?

McDonald's problem isn't caused by being in incorrect alignment with business organizations requiring an immediate synergy shift to recall segmented sales within regional franchisees. Or whatever they're trying to say.
Their problem is that they haven't kept up.
Wendy's, Burger King, A&W, Dominos, and many others have changed their product, changed how they make and serve their food. McDonald's? It's still McDonald's.
Try A&W or Dominos (pan pizza) and tell me it's what you thought of when I said A&W or Dominos. It actually tastes good and I was surprised with the taste and edibleness of the product and ingredients. Burger King took a step back, IMO, and Wendy's spicy chicken can't be beat for fast food yumminess.
But McDonald's is still McDonald's. Same drab coloured food, same drab taste. If they changed anything it sure doesn't show or taste like it. Granted, I was only talked into a McDonald's after many many years, but I'll never go back.
McDonald's doesn't need to change their menu, they need to change their product and make it stand out, much like the others have now done.

I worked through most of high school at McDonald's, as a result I ate a damn ton of it during those years. To the point that I have a really hard time spending money on it, the value proposition on most McD's food is zero for me.
But I will say. The coffee is superior to Tim's, and occasionally, if I'm really, really hungover. In a moment of weakness, their breakfast offerings hit the spot. Those hash browns are good for what ails you.
We're talking less then a once a year proposition.
In general, I'd much rather go to a place like Burger 320 or Clive, but I still find the fries at McDonalds can't be beat. I'm not sure sure why exactly, but I'll take them over any fancy fries out there.
The Coffee definitely beats Tim Hortons, and the odd McFlurry isn't bad either. The burgers/wraps etc. really could use an upgrade though.
