I'm actually encouraged. The Flames were markedly better defensively in the 2nd and 3rd period. Ramo is most certainly ON.
Need two wins in Calgary (I know, obvious) and then you have 2 chances to steal one in Anaheim again.
I am anxious for Tuesday night.

Flames fall 3-0. Ducks lead series 2-0
I think the reason they beat Vancouver was they had a player step up and set the tone. In that case it was Ferland. Someone needs to emerge and show some emotion.

Anaheim hasn't lost a game and the Flames haven't lost at home, something has to give on Tuesday.
When in doubt bet on the home team.

I agree with this for the most part. I wouldn't say he's been 'terrible all playoffs' but he certainly hasn't proved anything and he was borderline terrible last night (though this seems to be a contrarian opinion for some reason). He made some very poor decisions during key times of the game and was otherwise mediocre. Not sure how people can't see this

Ramo was incredible, flames showed they can play with them in the 2nd, but damn the ducks are really good at clogging up the shooting lanes. Need to get to Andersen, he shows signs of bad rebounds, but the flames can't get to them. Hope home ice is better to us and we can get game 3 ... give some hope in this series.

Yeah I agree about Wolf, he was pretty much a non-factor. He's not fast enough to put bodies on players without taking penalties for late hits. Not skilled enough to generate offensive opportunities and turnovers.
In short, he's not as good as Ferland or Bouma, and can't replace them at this level. And I would agree, I'd rather see Shore, Granlund or even Poirier in for him.
As small as he is, we could really use a guy like Byron too. He pushes the pace and drives the forecheck. He can bring the speed to spread out the neutral zone and get the game speed to a level that the Ducks aren't comfortable with.

In game 1 Backlund was easily the Flames best forward.
Last night he was perhaps their 3rd worst regular forward (behind Monahan & Hudler).

Forget about the last 2 games and reset for Games 3 and 4. Game 2 was an improvement and the Flames can play off this and the energy of the C of Red for Game 3!

I don't know, Periods 2 and 3 were all flames.
Play that, the series can change quick. Step 1 ofcourse is to take the home games and then aim for finishing this up in 6.

Let's face it, this isn't the end we wanted for our season, but it is far better than the end we expected at the start of the year.
This team was destined for McDavid and instead they are in round 2 against the best team in the West. The best part is that in periods 2 and 3 they not only held their own, but actually took the game to the Ducks.
The Ducks are more skilled at this point in their careers, that isn't anything to be ashamed of. They've got more than 10 mill on their roster than the Flames and oodles of size and experience.
No matter what happens I commend the Flames on a job well done and we will take this whole experience to the bank for next year and all the years after.

Ducks let off the gas in the final 2 periods. Flames going to be in tough, even at home.

We should consider keeping Ramo and moving Hiller.
And this is not just because of game 2 last night.
Ramo has been better all year.
Another Feaster acquisition outperforming a Treliving acquisition.

That was just a fantastic game from Ramo, and it still wasn't even close. The team does play better at home but at this point I honestly think it's just a matter of time.

Little bit of that but the IMO the Flames just played a much smarter, much more patient game.
In the first they were over-aggressive, running around, and forgot how to play strong positional hockey.
In the second and third they looked much closer to the calm team that was willing to slow the game down when needed and looked way more relaxed.
I think the goaltending the first helped to calm them down, think the soft goals in game 1 rattled their confidence in their goalies a little and Ramo eased the concerns.
