And you can't possibly be serious about diagnosing something thru a TV. As many posters have already said, they've had their bell rung with no concussion afterwards. I too had an incident during a men's league game where I was kinda getting angled off but turned around at the same time. I ended up smacking the back of my head against the turnbuckle and got knocked out for a few seconds (picture Chara/Pacioretty). Ref stopped the game, and you can bet your ass I was dazed. Everyone got extremely worried, but I was fine. Not even a headache the next day.

Another time, I was playing D and skating backwards when (and I swear this is the truth) I hit a rut in the ice. There is not a chance in hell I tripped over my own feet. I fell directly backwards obviously and bumped my head off the ice. It didn't even hurt, but the ref recommended I sit out since he said I looked dazed. The next day, I had a headache and it lasted a few days.

So it's luck of the draw when it comes to head hits. You can't diagnose anything based on how it looks.
I throw a lot of zany ideas on here because I love hockey but admittedly I'm no hockey expert.

I did however spend over a decade in becoming a neurosurgeon and have presented at our national meetings on the concussion work we did with the NFL. So for this stuff you can sort of take me as at least fairly close to expert opinion on contemporary views on traumatic brain injury.

My friend, what you describe having in your personal experience are, in fact, considered mild concussions today. Most people suffer no long term cognitive or neurological injury or deficit as a result (just like you have happily not experienced!)

If Ferland is in the lineup, he does not have a concussion. That is the main injury that you can't "play through" anymore. It is against the rules and there are things in place now to prevent this from happening, which is awesome. Great news on Ferland.

Hudler is playing through a couple bump and bruises, more so than other guys, but nothing major. Hartley is a smart coach and left the boys out to rest instead of pushing it.

Whether Calgary lost 2-1 or 12-1, they lost 1 game. Not a time to panic, but we need to win this f@#$#@ing game!

I will add that we haven't lost this series until we have either lost a home game, or lost game 7.

So do I sue you to cash in, or how does this work?
