I guess that was meant at me.
It wasn't meant as some evil "habs deserve this" karma, I meant more that they were lucky to have that first goal called back and the quick whistle in Ottawa. The non goal tonight was a non goal and it was obvious.
Am I allowed to use the term "karma"? Or was that a dumb word to use?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't believe referees are biased nor do calls go one way because of conspiracy. Growing up surrounded by typically clueless Habs fans I heard enough of that garbage.
ETA the Habs are in trouble if their pm continued to produce trash, and their only goals come from flukes like Pacioretty's. They've been lucky so far that the Sens were offensively inept (game 5 excepted) and Tampa seemed to not be better in game 1.

You should've heard Phil Esposito who does colour on the Tampa station. TSN 1040 here in Vancouver was picking up parts of the game including the play leading up to the no goal call. The guy went on a rant and was really holding himself from swearing on air. He reminded everyone that the same thing happened last year to the Bolts in OT against the Habs. These things always happen in Montreal, the ref lives in Montreal, and the Rangers had bad calls against them in his playing days. Good stuff.

Kind of ridiculous that this offside doesn't get called when it's such a blatant offside. During the 2nd OT as well. I didn't watch the game so I didn't see the play develop but why is there no zebra on the line?
Maybe '04 will always make me hate this team but I hate to see the NHL giving teams like this a break. That city doesn't even deserve to have an NHL team. At least it's only game 1, hope the Habs can knock these #######s out.

Are you suggesting that the linesman or the NHL purposely gave the Lightning a break? Calls get missed. For all teams. Randomly.
The NHL doesn't favour the Lightning, any more than they conspire against the Canucks.

Actually I'd argue they're the only sunbelt team that DOES deserve a team. They have great fan support and solid attendance.

If you count the Cali teams as sunbelt, they all get good attendance. And the teams aren't a joke like many Canadian teams have been over the last 15 years.

Calls get missed, yes. But during the second OT of second round playoff game, especially when the offside is as blatant as this one was. A missed penalty is one thing but a missed offside is a little tougher to let go.

Whine whine whine. Barely offside and they had to freeze frame it to determine it was maybe half a skate blade over. Montreal had the puck and failed to clear yet nobody's blaming Patteryn for giving it away.

Hopefully Stamkos can do something. For a supposed superstar he has been very disappointing the last few playoff years.

Can teams just decline power plays? These teams (and the Senators before them) are horrific to watch.
And that being said, Tbay score on the PP.

was about to mention how bad TB looked on the PP ...
But it's always nice when MTL gets scored in with Subban in the penalty box, man that guy has discipline issues, that was a completely unnecessary penalty, would not want the overrated guy on my team.

Prust's was worse - selfish and stupid. Why would you punch a guy repeatedly like that in a 1-0 game? It's not game 6 of the cup finals with a 5-2 lead.
Prust isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but the coach has to talk to him about this kind of stuff.
TB should have scored 2 on the double PP, but terrible PP leads to Prust getting away with it!

It seems like the Lightning are a little more opportunistic, which does not bode well for the Habs when it's Price vs. Bishop
