I don't think this Flames team can defend it.

The only chance they are going to have in this series is scoring their way out of defensive pressure.

Have to drive the net harder, shoot the puck more try to get separation in the transition game through the neutral zone.

If the ducks are going to dump it in, our defense need to be throwing it hard around the boards for a winger with speed in the neutral zone.

So, so many opportunities to shoot - and they passed - or lost the puck. Just misplayed, overplayed and couldn't get it together. I guess they get a freebie from the emotional high of the Vancouver series win to a bit of a flatliner tonight. Oh well.

Probably. It was scoreless at that time. Would have given them a lot more confidence.

I know it won't happen but I would actually like to see Gillies in net. He is much bigger than Hiller and Ramo and, with the way the Ducks were crashing into the crease, a bigger goalie would help a lot.

I thought Bennett showed as much compete as any Flame forward in this game. Colborne wasn't bad either.

Tough game for Engelland. One good thing about this game is that Wotherspoon got almost 15 minutes of ice-time - and no goals against, by the way.

They'll just run them over anyways, the Ducks forwards target one guy and both hit him. Wideman and Brodie took a lot of hard hits and were leaned on while on the ground, it was pretty dirty imo. The whole game wass pretty dirty and it's really taking away from the entertainment, I hope one day in the future the game will be cleaned up and we look back on games of today as goonshows. I know some people like it but for me the subjectivity of the referees ruins the whole experience and cheapens it.

Bollig gets a quick penalty because of who he is.... that should be completely unacceptable in this league. All players penalized much harder and much more objectively would be great. Take away the dirty stuff and speed up the game, my god that would be so much better.

Especially now with Ferland out, Calgary have to get their heads screwed on here about what got them here. You can beat a suck-ass canuck squad full of injuries by hitting them, but a healthy ducks team isn't going to bat an eye.

Take out shore, Put Granlund back in and kill them with speed and GOALS. This team is freakin' allergic to shooting pucks off the rush and I makes me want to pull my hair out. Put a shot off the pads and go to the net. I feel like a walking Fan Cliche, but for farks sake, SHOOT THE PUCK ON NET.

I think your partly right, but when your as big as the Ducks you get to push people around. Just the way hockey is and should be. Hopefully our guys can find a way to push back.

Given Ferland's injury, how do they NOT do the minimal amount of research necessary to mention his previous concussion this season? Seems like an important thing to mention after he leaves with an obvious head injury.

? Shore was a bright spot and a big body. There'll be room for Granlund because of injury I'm afraid

It is SO bad. So so so so bad. I switched over to NBC. The color, the sound, the broadcasters, everything is just absolutely terrible. I can't figure out why they don't feel the need to improve. They have to know how bad their production value is.

It's frustrating as a producer to watch. I'd be livid.

Really rough game for Stajan, Engelland and Brodie in particular. Not many bright spots for the Flames really. Backlund, Bennett maybe Shore were occasional bright spots but that's about it.

Forget about this one, and be ready for game 2.
