As for the images, they auto-resize as you expand and contract the size of the browser window. Even shows up on my phone browser correctly.

If the quoted is really how you want to address what I posted, especially after I explained what I meant in perfectly plain language, you're not engaging in this discussion in good faith or you're not capable of understanding simple concepts when they're explained to you. I'm not sure which I should assume in order to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Just to reiterate: the comparison to the Infinitis was to give examples of daily drivers that I'd rather drive than a Mustang, the point being that if you're buying a car as a toy, it should be more fun to drive than your daily driver; otherwise, what's the point. I emphasized that this was a "to each their own" situation, and if you like the Mustang, good on you. The RS6 was a response to the notion that RWD was somehow a necessity for a fun-driving car, being a hyperbolic counter-example. Another offhand comment that you have managed to drag out at length.

You did not proceed to "talk about cars", so much as argue that my opinion as to how enjoyable the car you've selected feels to drive is wrong, and based somehow on me driving it wrong, at which point I noted that this was simply not the car for me and there was no need to get defensive.

I'm not sure what sort of personality quirk causes someone to behave the way you are here... this should not have required an argument; just "different strokes" should have done the trick. Hopefully it does so now.

Hah, I'm the polar opposite. I hate all-black rims on most cars...especially black ones. I think cars need that little accent of silver to make them pop. Totally blacked out cars (i.e., black body, rims, lights) just look so flat, and to me, kind of cheap (as polak said, not unlike steelies) and give off a high-schooler vibe. But then again, I generally hate most non-OEM rims or customization, as I'm a sucker for "clean" unmolested cars.

I think the best mods are subtle. Unless it's an older car where are genuinely are upgrading something, but whatever the age of the car cosmetic mods are so hit or miss. You absolutely cannot cheap out on something like wheels, anything other than the best just makes the entire car look cheap.

That is correct, the Z06 is a different beast! I have a Stingray with the z51 performance package (zo6 doest not carry the "Stingray" name).

There are already a few 2015 Z06's going around in Calgary.

No power steering, no power brakes, 5 speed manual

Is it fast? Off the line, compared to modern cars, not really, no. You can't race technology, and this car is 35 years old, but it is driving in it's purest form. Speed is all relative anyway. I can cruise @ 150 in the 4-Runner and it's so quiet, smooth and disconnected that it hardly feels like I'm the one driving.

Driving the Porsche, you know you're going 150. The wind noise, the engine roaring right behind your head, the feel of the road through the steering wheel. Never mind the fact your ass is 5 inches from the road.

I'm a driver, I race karts and ride motorbikes, and for me it's all about feel and challenge, and that's why I bought an old(er) car. It's difficult to drive, the shifting takes a lot of finesse, but man is it rewarding. Also, if I bought a new sportscar, I would lose my license, because you have to crack 180 before they really come alive

Couldn't agree more. I started a thread on that very topic a year or two ago following a test drive of the Abarth I took. That was a fun little car and fun to drive even at sane speeds. It made me think how much more fun that would be in Calgary on a day-to-day basis versus owning a lambo or something.

Actually this cosmetic mod talk has made me want to ask for your opinion...

I have a 3 inch by 4 inch gash in the corner of my bumper by the passenger wheel well where some of the bumper was actually ripped off. I don't want to pay $2000 for a new bumper plus paint so I'm thinking I could find a lip that might cover it up.

Here's the only one I found that I can stand (I hate them all):

What do you guys think? I'd keep it black exactly like that too. I'm thinking I'd wrap it in Matte black or faux-carbon fibre (meh) and match that black grill piece with the same wrap...

If you posted a picture of the damage for comparison it might be helpful. Ordinarily I'd say I dislike those but if it's a cheap way to cover up damage it may just be the most practical solution.

EDIT: Oh, and DEFINITELY do not do carbon fibre. No sir. Matte is fine.

Apart from perhaps a GTI, I think an Abarth would make a hell of a fun city car. I love cars that you can trash about in the city. One reason I still kind of miss the Protege5...that car was the definition of "slow car fast" fun.

A lot of aftermarket ground effects/body pieces (or whatever you want to call them) are really really crappy. Definitely do your research as some may require extra body work just to make them fit. Obviously your front ground clearance will be reduced too. You could also look at pick n pull type places but that will tough as most cars have front end damage.

Abarth is a sweet car. I'd love one. Just as much fun (if not more) than the '97 EL IMO. I've never driven VW but I hear it's close. I was chatting with a guy and he says Alfa Romeo is the car he misses the feeling of. I am curious of the Honda Fit, Miata and MX5 for this very reason as well, modern Civic isn't bad, but sorta boring. Surprisingly eco mode is more fun than regular mode. Used to be interested in Saturn Sky, Lotus (Elise or Exige) and S2000, but not really anymore. (I like "practical" cars). I don't like the feel of Toyotas and I wasn't super impressed in the Mazda 3.

In a super weird way, I think the '15 Fit is super cool. It's essentially a 5 seater minivan style of car.

I like sports suspension. Feeling every bump. I hate the new suspensions that absorb everything.

On a side note, anyone feel like modern cars are more difficult to see out of these days? Like, thicker pillars blocking view etc vs older cars or something weird like that?
