My retro replica jersey is pretty beat up with frays and catches from only 40-50 wears.

I wear my jerseys to approx. 15-20 games a year plus a dozen or so events annually. I think my oldest authentic jerseys might be 5 years old now and I would suspect they look as good as 85-90% of original new.

The key is to wash them inside out and follow the instruction. I don't play hockey with them so I cant comment on how they hold up after a few seasons of being washed after every game. This may or not be a factor.

In any event the Flames jerseys are special and I am proud of any fan sporting them anywhere these days.

Three way race between Nike, Adidas/CCM and Bauer for the branding on uniforms.

Thanks guys, I may wait to see on the new contract. (Barring a cup finals appearance, then I'll have to buy) I'd Love it if CCM came back... Old school!

If you can afford it, get the authentic.

The replica's look good at the beginning, but seem to get ragged and creased every time you wear them. Basically, the more you wear them the more evident it becomes that it's a replica.

I have a red reebok authentic (circa 2005-2007 with the horsehead logo on the shoulders, not the Edge cut with the flag patches) -- only worn a few times so it's in like new condition. Size 52 so it was too big for me to wear.

Send me a PM if you're interested

That's true actually. Which is stupid when you think about it since even a replica is $150 plus lettering. I expect my $150 garment to withstand quite a bit.

The female cut replica is even worse quality if you ask me. (my wife has one)

Under Armour too. They're also trying to get the World Cup jersey contract.

I have a CCM authentic Canadiens from the late 80's, still looks new. Replicas are ok, but they definitely wear a lot quicker

You wash your jerseys after each game? What kind of hockey player are you? I only wash mine when I don't want to be near myself on the bench.

I forgot about UA in this mix. I'm actually excited to see their offering.

I would wash my jerseys after each game when I played floor hockey or was a goalie.

Never wore an authentic jersey while playing but I usually like to have a few duplicate jerseys so I could wash them after a game.

Kipper used to go through 4-6 jerseys a night according to the equipment guys. I guess he liked to be Tide Fresh!

I haven't played hockey in about a year and a half, and as I was standing at the tunnel before warmups to give some encouragement to the boys, the stench of their gear wafted up. I always thought they'd be minty fresh, but they were just as rancid as my old gear haha.

I hated and loved it at the same time.
