Those GIFs are hilarious.

I'm actually a big fan of Boudreau, I don't think there's a single coach in the league that has given more credit to the Flames in the past year and a half than him.

That quot by Ferland is hilarous. Something like (The Ducks) back end has a few uh... a few guys that uh... uh... I dunno, I am just gonna hit everyone

I didn't see Bouma or Byron this am. Either they skated really early or they may be ready to take a few turns with the main club? We'll see

Giordano chatting with Brad Treliving and Hartley... Perhaps campaigning for an early return? #Flames

So what is Gio doing on the ice? Skating and light passing? Or is he firing pucks around? If he is leaning into shots one might think he's kind of close.....

Saw this posted in the comments section of one of the stories on the Ducks/Flames second round series and thought it was funny:

Anaheim: YOU SCORE FIRST
Calgary: NO YOU

Now would be a wonderful time for Bouma's broken hand to magically heal.

EDIT - I feel like he should be close-ish to returning because on Team 1040 (who knows their former Giants well) said he'd be out for about a month with a broken hand and that was several days before they started the series with the Flames. So I'd estimate that that would have been about two and a half weeks ago (or there abouts).

Lance Bouma was injured on 7 April, which was exactly three weeks ago. It seems possible based on a four-week timeline that he could be back by next week, but of course that is based on the unconfirmed report about the nature of his injury. It is possibly more serious than we were told.

Just taking a look at the Ducks defense, they have a lot of soft, mobile, offensive-minded defencemen (Lindholm, Vatanen, Fowler, Depres) who might start to back off as they realize they're going to get smashed every time they touch the puck.

Then there's Wisniewski who can be taken off his game fairly easily. He's a pretty undisciplined guy.

Then you've got Beauchemin and Stoner who are the rough and rugged types.

Maybe there's something there for the Flames to take advantage of (even though that defence scares the piss out of me if they control the offensive zone for too long).

I hope Ferland introduces himself early on to Depres. Remind him that his hit on Smid was not cool.

It's funny how on this board you can take a direct and extremely rude jab at Bruce's appearance, but a comment like Sedin Sisters is akin to Heiling a certain 20th Century dictator. I heavily support equal rights for the sexes, but it's just comical what the general consensus is for what is "allowed" on the boards these days.

Anyhow, I'm saving all the Duck Hunt themed images off this site and I may make posters out of them for Game 1 & 2. This is me affirming that I own none of the images so don't try to sue me when you see them on TV. If you are truly upset about your image being used, I will refrain.

Personally, I don't think the Flames can win the same battle of physicality and intimidation with Anaheim like they did against the Canucks. I believe that discipline and speed will be the key to their success this round. Of course, Ferland should and will do what he does, but the Ducks are likely not going to recoil and quit like that other team.

What's everyone think for line matchups?

I kind of want Stajan's line out there against their top line. That's a big line for our top line to handle. They seem to match up better with their second line.

Backlunds line could also match up against their second line.

I am finally able to print my tickets to game one on Friday. But it appears to be 1:00? Can anyone else confirm that time. I was expecting an evening game.

This is a valid point. The Vancouver D is a lot more rugged and physical, and Ferland was able to get into their heads pretty early on in the series.

Will be interesting how the Flames play it. Have to think that guys like Vatanan and Fowler won't be able to stand up to a very physical forecheck. There were times during the Jets series where the Jets absolutely had their way with them.

In fact, I would argue that the Jets dominated 8 out of 12 periods. They just couldn't put it together in the 3rd.

There is 0 chance the game would be at 1pm on a Friday, the league would lose too much revenue.

I disagree.

They might not fold, but Winnipeg dominated large stretches of their series because of the physical play against the Anaheim D.

Anaheim forwards are bigger and tougher though, so the Flames won't be able to run them around like they could the Vancouver forwards.

But I absolutely think if they play physical with a strong forecheck that the Anaheim D will make mistakes.
