Pfft! Who hasnt done that with or without weed?

Happens all the time.

When I put my kid in the oven I give him an SOS pad so at least he can make himself useful in there.

Thought I'd bump this as I'm also going to start cutting back.

My smoking had increased steadily over the last 3 years from rare, to occasional, to a couple times a week to almost daily once I broke up with my ex (not cause of ending it, just cause she was never into drinking or smoking so it kept me in check).

Now it never got to the point where it would interfere with my life so I never really cared about how frequent it became. If I was bored and had nothing to do I'd smoke. But in the last couple weeks I've started to get serious anxiety when I smoke. My heart feels like it's racing and beating really hard and intense (it's not, my pulse is fine) to the point where it freaks me out. Just a ####ty experience every time. I was never prone to anxiety before this and I've never had an anxiety attack sober (where there wasn't heavy drinking and large caffeine intake the night before) so it's definitely the weed. Even dispensary stuff gave me the attacks so it's not laced or anything dumb like that.

I know I won't be able to quit cold turkey, too many of my friends smoke and honestly, it seems that if I'm distracted, I have no issues. In line with this, my GF and I are instating a "Only social smoking" rule. That should cut it back to a couple times a week and we'll see if that helps the attacks. We're going to invest the time we would normally spend ripped (boring evenings alone) going for runs instead.

I know this post doesn't offer much for discussion but I just felt like talking about it and laying my plan out might help. I also think it's important for some of you that think weed has no negative effects to see that it does and they SUCK.

Who may I ask thinks it has no negative effects? I haven't seen anyone here say that

Might not be a bad idea to go and talk to your doctor to make sure that your racing heart isn't a symptom of something else.

Not grass related, but a bunch of years ago, I had the same thing happen, my heart was racing and I felt like my head was going to explode, everyone said I was having anxiety issues, and or "Dude its in your head"

After a very serious heart racing episode where I could feel every rapid beat everywhere on my body I went to the hospital. After they admitted me and gave me a nitro tablet and tested me, and wired me up with a monitor, it turned out that I had developed an irregular heart beat that if I continued to ignore it could have become a huge issue.

The put me on beta blockers (damn near killed me) and then calcium channel blockers and worked on regulated my heart beat. If the drugs didn't work the next option was surgical.

Thank god that didn't have to happen.

Don't mess around dude, it never hurts to see a doc when things are that weird.

That doesn't sound like something I would say.

Yeah I've been debating it a lot. Did you go during an episode or after?

You should change the title of the thread now to; "Today is the day that I realized techno is actually terrible".

I would consider investing in a vaporizer that you keep for "tobacco" if you plan on running. The actual combustion of carbon material is the worst part of smoking anything. Trust me, your lung capacity will thank you.

Are vaporizers actually that much better for your health (lung related) than smoking weed through a joint or bong??

Potentially bad if:

Afflicted with mental disorders
Genetic predisposition to schizophrenia
Allergic reactions are possible
Bronchitis is possible (just a guess that this is usually caused by the chemicals used in the growing process)
Or if abused in excess and the user develops a psychological addiction

Almost always bad for neuroplastic developing cerebral cortices (i.e. under the age of 20ish).

In other words stable developed minds are usually ok if used in moderation. Source UofS biopsych department.

I smoke before a workout and find it helps my lung capacity. 5:57 mile yesterday.

I ignore the first few, thought it was anxiety.

But it happened at work and my lips turned blue and I went into pinprick vision and got rushed to the hospital.

I've had one for the last 4 months. The solo. It is/was awesome.

K I've had nothing close to that. Just this constant feeling of pressure over my heart/left chest. It hasn't fully gone away since Sunday though which is a first. I still think I'm going to go to the doctor. Peace of mind might make it go away.

Absolutely go to the doctor, but it sounds like anxiety. Mine comes and goes, often I don't know the exact reason but it was initially caused by emotional trauma. You have anything like that that coincides with it starting?

The Flames making the playoffs?

Actually I don't. It just started one time when I smoked and it's been happening every time since, I'm almost certain it's anxiety too. Maybe I'm going full blown hypochondriac. I don't know.
