He doesn't have that with the Capitals and is getting ice time on merit. He still can be an effective player but teams in free agency have to be aware that he's not a player that can bring it every night and when he doesn't have it he's not effective at all.

I casually tracked his ice time after the trade, just out of curiosity given his comments about wanting more ice time here. Even during that streak, at best he got 3rd line minutes but for the majority of the time he was a 4th liner and least used forward for the Caps. Trotz is clearly not a fan of his game.

It could be the final game ever at the Nassau Coliseum today.
Third straight healthy scratch for Glencross.

Islanders look pretty good so far. Love hearing Chris Cuthbert call the game.

Me too. Sucks that we got stuck with Homer Hughson and his dip#### sidekick Simpson. I can't wait to bathe in their tears tonight when the Flames close this out.

Gotta feel for the Islanders - losing Hamonic at the end of the season, Visnovsky and now DeHaan in Game 6. Mayfield, Donovan, Pulock and Reinhart give them some solid depth but those are big shoes to fill during the playoffs.

Great game going on. Tavares scored in the first period and then Carlson tied with five seconds left in that period.
No scoring in the second period. Kulemin scored midway through the third period, 2-1 Islanders with six minutes left in regulation time.

Terrible icing call on the Islanders with less than 3 minutes left. Orpik had plenty of time to play that and ran interference on Nelson instead...just weak

Kind of a BS brawl at the end of that. Buzzer hadn't even gone off and he had already almost connected on the shot. What was the other option? Don't wind up in case the buzzer went?

Well, if the Caps win game 7, that was a hell of a way to close out the Coliseum.

Tavares will pull a Pat Lafontaine in the 4th OT of game 7.

Wait a sec, Resolute, what about game 8?
New York is the largest media market in the country, and NBC is the home of the Stanley Cup Finals. That didn’t stop the Big Apple’s NBC affiliate from telling viewers this morning that “Nassau Coliseum could stay open for Game 8.”

This has surprisingly been a great series the last 2 games.
I hope Ovi can get past round 1, but at the same time I would love to see the Islanders make it through to see a New York series. JT is an amazing leader and player to watch too.

I want a New York series.
The crowds in that matchup would be insane.

Go Isles.
We have two Caps picks and the sooner they are, the better.

Nobody blows game 7s at home like the Waahington Capitals.
