I don't really get the issue with it, though. I mean, chances are I'm going to be with the Flames a heck of a lot longer than any player will...
(Last time I got one with my name on it was in my early 20s, and I've long since lost that jersey.)

When the Flames signed Freddie Brathwaite from the canadian national team after our go at many goalies... in a game vs the Leafs in the presence of a bunch of Leaf fan I promised myself that if Freddy shut them out I would buy a jersey with his name on him
#40 Horsehead Jersey of Brathwaite , and I don't regret a single moment of buying it, the bugger shut them out and I was proud to keep my word

Freddie! Freddie! Freddie!
Not a lot of fond memories from that era, but this chant is most certainly one.

Presently I have:
my lucky #10 Roman Cervenka (bought before Comeau gave up #10)
#92 Bill Arnold third jersey
#27 Sieloff (thought he would make the team quicker, and take Derek Smith's old number)
#18 Stajan (old Lombardi jersey from 04, seam-ripped the name bar off and then put on Staj 3 days after we acquired him!)
Will post pics tonight when I get home

I have a black horsehead (the last year ProPlayer made them, actually a really nice jersey), a white pedestal, a 2004 home red, and a red retro - all blank. I was going to have the horsehead crested for Val Bure but changed my mind when he got benched in 2000-2001 and then that summer he was gone. Seemed like a sign so to avoid any regrets they will all remain blank forever more.

You seriously just guessed that Sieloff would make the team and then just chose the # 27 because...?
I'd have to say that's pretty strange.

A friend got me a Rob Niedermayer jersey as a joke because he knew my profound dislike for that guy as a player. He made sure it said "R. Niedermayer" on the back. Don't really regret it, though. Still makes me laugh when I find it in storage.

Canadian Tire had some for $200. No idea how they're charging that, other than to say they're 50% off when they drop them to regular price.
What's a decent price and what size are you looking for?

Taking the numbers off is disasterous, so I'm told. Otherwise I wouldn't have a 93 Cammalleri.

I would like to think if I picked a jersey/number combo that I would be good with it, regardless of what happened with the player. I didn't get a Conroy #24 jersey until he had almost retired. Whatever the jersey I would pick, it would be to honor a player/situation.

#2 Commodore 2004 Run Jersey - wish it was signed
#30 Vernon Jersey - signed (Purchased at his retirement ceremony game)
#30/#40 Vernon Jersey - signed by Tanguay and worn by him during warmup
#3 Phaneuf Jersey - still gets worn during Leafs games when in town.
No regrets. It's just memories.
I have a retro I'm wearing in the playoffs I'd like to get lettered with Monahan.

I also have a kids XL Tanguay jersey that I got for free which I give to dates to wear to Flames games if they don't have their own.

If this hasn't been said yet, anyone worth dating already has a jersey. Plus, one less garment to scoop up when you make the 4 a.m. escape (or is that just me?)

Probably will bite the bullet and get a Authentic Mony this summer to replace Ramo.

The only reason you should regret having a Cammalleri Flames Heritage Classic jersey is that he played for Montreal in that game.
Don't see why anyone would regret having a Tanguay or Cammalleri jersey, they were good Flames. Same with Bouw in my opinion, although it's shared with very few!
And for anyone who bought a Penguins Iginla blue jersey (XL) who's having buyers remorse, I'd love to take it off your hands!

Bouw, and an autographed Phaneuf jersey. Oh and Trevor Kidd. Basically all the jerseys I get turn into scapegoats.
I also have a Marc Savard, which fell into the same category for a few years there. But after revitalizing his career in Boston, the sympathy over how his career ended prematurely, and just simply lots of years gone by, I think it's flipped from "jersey regret" to just nostalgia territory now.

My wife got me a Flames Iginla and a Kings kopitar from NHL.com a few years ago for christmas. I dont regret the jerseys because I love both teams and players but I regret that NHL.com does such a crap job with the lettering. It isnt stitched on it is this iron on silk material. I'm sure each jersey cost about $180. Not nearly as nice as the stuff they do at the Fanatic. I just recieved a new jersey from NHL.com (I go there for the 3XL) but I made sure to get it without lettering as I can now take it to fanatic to get done.

Edit: Actually, I just found this place ( http://gpcresting.com/cresting.htm) and they quoted me $100 for the Forsberg jersey, and will even use the lettering style that was used on that jersey. They won't switch numbers though, because of the stitch marks (doh!).

They are the official customizer of the Flames.
