My original post probably got lost in all the excitement, but I just want to say congrats to you guys. You guys have a pretty exciting team over there. At the start of the series I didn't think you had a chance, but Hartley had them playing their asses off and full credit for the win.

I thought worth mentioning again that monstrous 3 minute and 22 sec shift that Engelland pulled in the second - just think about that for a minute. The guy has proven to be a real warrior for this team - no flash, just substance!

I don't understand this board recently. We're in the playoffs for the first time in many years and people get offended because we call the Sedins sisters and Ferland adds an empty netter to cap off the series win.

This is a slippery slope guys, next thing you know CP is complaining that a Flame didn't pick up the stick for an opposing player..

This is the playoffs.

I cant find the 2015 draft thread so sorry for asking this on here, but where are we looking at picking with our first rounder after this series win? And who is the cp consensus pick we should take?

I have the worst sore throat this morning. Best game I've ever attended, the building was incredible when Stajan scored.

Was the Calgary Tower lit up after the win?

In all fairness the complaint about the Ferland goal came from Vancouver radio (unless I missed a post). They said it was disrespectful, but they can go pound sand.

Got up this morning, read through this thread and just reading how happy everyone was gave me the biggest grin in the world, I just couldn't stop smiling and laughing at everyone's happiness. The playoffs have been missing from Calgary for so long and I love that city so much and to see the Red Mile just full with people and to see how much of a boost it is giving everyone is so amazing.

Calgary, the Flames and all of our fans I love you all (sorry for getting gushy ).

Wow.

Well, we should give Bieksa credit, he was sort of right....

there was a young Flame draft pick in this series that was irrelevant!

If they didn't want another empty netter, they should have put Miller back in and let the clock run down.

If the goalie is pulled, they are still gunning for it and therefore fair game. Ridiculous.

As stated earlier, what's he supposed to do? Disrespectful? No it's not. That's embarrassing radio. They're just mad it was Ferland!

If Ferland scores, throws his gloves in their air and shoots them with this stick when the other team is out of the game, that is disrespectful.

Scoring on the empty net is what their NHL salary pays them to do. Not scoring is a slap in the face to competitive sports. That would of been a bigger story.

Default Yeah Baby! 2nd round! Bring on the Ducks!

There wasn't player on either team last night who wouldn't have buried that in the same position. It's a non-issue. As Morozee said, if you don't want a puck in your net put a goalie there.

Anyone capture that moment in warmup where there was about 50 pucks in the net behind Lack? I forget which game that was. 4 or 5.

I keep going back to Bieksa's comments after their game 2 win, where he said they are familiar with chippy play. They've been there before and know how to respond to it. Their play in game 3 made it obvious that none of what he said was true. The Flames, and especially Ferland, were in their head from that point on.
