Still alive. Hoping that me drinking a 24 pack doesn't need to become an elimination game tradition. GFG.

Special thanks to the coaching staff.
I love this team. I can't see how the team is going to beat the Ducks, but after the season they've had, you just have to believe they can do it.

Good list, not complete. Colborne was a beast this series. Have to add him, imo

Bieksa is actually alright off the ice. Media loves him but he is a dumb dumb on the ice and tend to say some idiotic stuff on interviews. He is a warrior for the Canucks but I still can't stand him. I totally agree on the captaincy part. I don't get why one of the Sedins is a captain. Yes they are the best players in the team but they are too quiet. Mind you Canucks does not surprise me about captaincy..heck they gave Luongo, the goaltender the captaincy once. A goalie!!

Haha! They had six games to deal with Ferland. Why start a new season reminding the entire team that they are Ferland's bitch?
I laugh at them.

NHL Gamecenter has a clip of the handshake line without commentary but it is hard to hear what anyone says. Dorsett might have said something to Ferland because Ferland kind of gives him a look back. The rest of Ferland's handshakes seem amicable and it seems like there are kind words between him and Henrik. Then you see a warm exchange between Henrik and Stajan.
The Sedins were clearly the most dangerous Canucks in this series and gave the Flames fits so if you want captains who lead by example on the ice they are good choices, I think.

Took my 7 year old step son to the game last night, his first ever trip to the dome.
Pretty sure that cemented him as a flames fan.

He probably was just trying to avoid a Ferland beatdown next season.

Out of thanks, but props to all of those posting Stajan's look up to the sky after that goal he had for his late son. So emotional!
What a year for him and his family, there are so many awesome stories on this team, and his tale of preserverance is one of the best. That GWG last night looked like the stuff miracles are made of, even more when you slow it down. How on earth did that go in? Without a doubt it immediately goes down as one of the most unforgettable goals in Flames history.
Every one of these guys are playing like captains. Just out of their minds, battling for each other. It is so incredible to watch this team elevating their character and their game constantly. Really pulling for them to keep this up because this has been the most entertaining and enjoyable season I've ever witnessed.
I have to give props to the Canucks as well. They seem to have turned the corner from being a zero class pack of Whiney divers. Desjardins, the sedins, horvat, and others really impressed and I hope they can continue the transformation into a respectable team so we can get the rivalry going again. It is hella fun playing against them when both teams are at their best.

I think the way we played the Sedins letting them hold onto possession and set up behind the net while we played a zone was an adjustment by Hartley to deal with our overburdened top 4 dmen. If 100% and not each playing close to half the game, our strategy is different and more aggressive imo.

Yeah that was pretty silly if CBC....the one handshake they should have been keying in in and they missed it.

Why are some people in a tizzy about Ferland scoring into the empty net at the end? What should he have had done, dump it into the corner? This is professional sports, not a feel-good competition. Not upset at all about him adding an extra exclamation point on that game and those losers' season.

i'm with you on the Ferland goal. It was the playoffs. Too much to lose. Put it in and put the game to bed.
I also think there should be a friendly chat by Hudler with Monahan. That pass was a nice gesture, but an unnecessary risk. Put the puck in the net.

Wow what a night. My house looks like a tornado went through it. What an after party. Can't believe this is legit. Hungover as hell today but well worth it. So proud and happy with this team. Stajan with the game winner.....most deserving person on the team. Couldnt' be happier for the guy. Everyone at my place was throwing in the towel after the 2nd goal and even down 3-0, I just knew it my heart it wasn't over.

Not to mention the kid is awesome and a physical force but not exactly Wayne Gretzky on the score sheet. Who would pass up an opportunity to pot only his fourth career goal and make the crowd go bananas one more time, just to make our hated rivals feel better?

Which feed were you watching? I was hoping to catch that but CBC cut away when Bieksa came over. Saw Vrbata say a few words to Ferland which sounded like "you played well, congratulations" though which I thought was classy.

Although this is one of the worst, scariest and overwhelming nights of my life, and although I couldn't watch the game I am very thankful that at least I have plenty of CP posts to read on my phone to take my mind off things.
it's nice that something good happened today to take my mind off all the bad. I hope one day I will be able to laugh with them both all about this crazy day everytime I see the game 6 highlights show up down the road.

I can't imagine how difficult this is for you and your family. Give your wife and baby a hug from all of us on cp. You are in our thoughts and prayers. While we will be cheering for the Flames we wish you nothing but a speedy recovery. I know if we were there you would be getting a tight hug from all of us!
