Darren Haynes ‏@DarrenWHaynes 5m5 minutes ago In the #Flames last three playoff visits to Honda Center: - 5-2 Win - 3-2 Overtime Loss - 2-1 Loss Now that sounds a little less menacing.

Maybe just because I'm 30, instead of 19 though.

Some Canuck fans get it, I guess they aren't all bad. On the 'other board':

"Grats to the Flames. They have tons of skill across the lineup and play a blue-collar game. Once they figure how to play good possession hockey they'll be contenders for a while. Spooky.

Just ****ing saddened that no matter how well our key guys played, our resident scrubs did their utmost to **** everything up. Miller's performance was absolutely inexcusable, conceding
goals out of nothing plays left and right. Sbisa and Bieksa (who can at least make a non-idiotic pinch) were predictably disastrous on their own end, so was Weber. They cost us 4 out of 5 goals out of their sheer lack of ability. It doesn't matter if the Sedins or Horvat's line show up if they have so much slack to make up for. Sure, maybe WD could've stapled Sbieksa to the bench but how much could our only three competent D-men taken? We don't know. Not going to nail this one on him because the team DID play as they should have systematically, just that colossal individual ****ups were way too much to handle.

And guess what - we're stuck with Miller, Sbisa and Dorsett. At least Matthias and Weber can walk, but there's $12.2M tied up in guys who should be making $3M combined at best. With the core ageing another year, there might be some dark days ahead of us."

Just bang on.

Freaking love it

honestly I thought the Flames started great (check the game thread if you want) they were incredibly unlucky to be down by 3 goals and glad they stuck with it

7-4 Flames

What did I tell you guys?
Yeah, I quoted myself 4 times in one post, deal with it. I don't know if it was the magic of positive thinking, the inspiration brought by the Ferland Murdercycle 1200, or the fact that we have the most damn entertaining, determined team in sports right now. But the was never a doubt in my mind for one second. The scoreboard meant jack squat. Sitting in the Saddledome, you could see the Flames were hungrier, and the more dominant team. It was just a matter of time until they exploded.

My vocal chords are stuck to the back of a seat somewhere in sec 219, I am $1200 poorer for seeing three playoff games live, and it is the best money I have ever spent as a Flames fan. I would do it again, at twice the price.

That crowd.....just, wow. I took my 69 year old mother, who is dealing with many serious health issues, and chronic pain, but she HAD to be there. And all there cheering she did will hurt her body for weeks, and she doesn't care. She said it was the best night of her life, watching those dirty Canucks, and bunch of limp noodles get the tar beat out of them. And hoped that her cheering somehow made a difference in ruining every Canucks players night. Her hatred of that team, runs deeper than mine, if that is even possible.

I love you mom. You're a frikkin warrior, and deserve the fan hard hat.

Wow Peter Lobardias is wasted on air.

Maple Leaf is important but we were led by a Czech and an American!

The Flames specialized in 3rd period comebacks this year, so it only seems fitting that they would do it in epic fashion in an elimination game.

Think Hiller starts game 1 against the Ducks. He allowed 2 goals or less in 4 of 5 games heading into tonight. He's a big part of us getting to this point in the series. Hard to fault him on either goal against. Pulling him was less a reflection on his play and more Hartley thinking the team needed a kick in the ass after a lackluster start. As usual, Hartley knew exactly which button to push.

Matt Stajan. The guy gets more than his share of hate, mostly for being the centrepiece of the poor return received for Phaneuf. He's a solid third line centre, and great leader and mentor for our young centres. Reminds me of Yelle with a bit more offense.

David Jones. After being hurt for much of his first season here, he quietly put up decent numbers in the regular season and was a key player in the first round when the Canucks shut down the Monahan line.

Jiri Hudler. Quiet for this first five games, but busted out in a big way tonight. After years of paying his dues as a supporting player in Detroit, he's really emerged as one of the league's premier offensive threats in Calgary.

Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau. Two of the league's most exciting young players. The Canucks weren't going to keep them quiet forever and when they broke out, they did it in dramatic fashion.

The Flames Defense. Hard to pick just one guy. The group really pulled together when Gio got hurt and continued what they started in the last two months of the season in the playoffs. Nice work.

When Sam Bennett gets a bit more experience under his belt and bulks up a bit more, he's going to be a hell of a player.

And finally, Michael Ferland. I don't think anyone will get his name wrong again. Nasty as they come, with a scoring touch. Flames MVP for the first round.

This feels like a team of destiny. If they can break the Honda Centre curse, we'll know it is for sure.

Given the highs and lows, and then highs, probabaly the best game I've been to, and best atmosphere at the Dome. Det Game 6, Van Game 6 and SJ Game 6, Tampa Game 3 and 6 are all special from 2004, but this was different.

As for my GDT prediction
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpos...3&postcount=17
The first line gets back going again...the Stajan/Jones line plays well, as does Hiller...but in the end, the Flames "hero" is an unlikely source., while not out on a limb, did pretty good.

First line = 10 points. Stajan/Jones/Ferland line 2 goals + EN, Matt Stajan as unlikely hero with his first ever playoff goal as the GWG.
