Backlund is a beaut. I know people were blaming him for the fourth goal, but it was tough play. He was one of the best players this series IMO.

Backlund still needs to find another gear. Match your team mates level of compete.

Defensively Backlund has been solid, but he hasn't been able to produce anything offensively at all. I'm not sure what grade I would give him right now.

He was the only Flame that could do anything last game. Just a bit snake bitten but still creating chances. Flames are lucky to have him.

This one is close but there is one from early last season where Hudler scored and stared straight into the camera against the glass and the team jumped on him from behind. That one is my favorite. Wish I could find it.

Didn't get to respond to this thread in time, but I never thought it was an intentional guarantee anyway. Just a vote of confidence in how the team was playing at home and how the crowd was jacking them up. I liked it and didn't think it was a big deal.
And hey, he was right!

Yeah IMO it was spun way out of proportion. It wasn't an outright "I guarantee we win game 6 without a doubt". It was a vote of confidence in not only his team but I think moreso the fans. These younger guys are completely blown away by the Sea of Red if you follow any of their Facebook or Twitter feeds. A complete non-issue.
But in hindsight, I guess we can take that guarantee to the bank!

D+ or C- at the very most. Remember he's the 2nd line center and the 4th line center in Stajan has 4 points and Backlund just 1 tied with Bollig. You have to think right now he's holding Bennett and Colborn back as he's been the worst offensive player on the team for a good month now and I would probably move Stajan into his spot and put him on the 4th line.

I wouldn't call the Ferland-Stajan-Jones line the 4th line. Though that does suit your argument.
