NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I guess we knew this would happen eventually, but we worked hard at it with all of the positive reviews we constantly gave the Edmonton Sun.

I remember a story hearing that the oilers wanted massive overpayment (Burke tried to trade up) something like 3 first rounders. Hindsight of course is 20/20 but they probably could have easily swapped firsts with a team, gained a roster player and first rounder in the next year.

Believe whatever you want. I for one don't believe Burke was lying

If the Flames can keep up, BOA will be rocking.

I think the Oilers need to keep up to the Flames

Weisbrod!
I remember a interview a while ago, that if Charelli were to ever leave Boston, he would want full autonomy (looks like he'll be given that), he likes his people (Weisbrod? Maybe Weisbrod will suggest Feaster?) and he wants a clean slate (CMD).
I honestly think if the Oilers didn't win the lottery, Lowe/MacT stay on... sucks.

I am surprised Doug Wilson is not on the un-employment line, he would be a viable choice for Edmonton.

That'd be really strange if Feaster was considered for Oilers GM just a year removed from being Flames GM. Weisbrod would be a good choice, IMO.

Yeah. For those who say McDavid and Chiarelli means the return of the Battle of Alberta, I doubt it. It will probably still be the Slaughter of Alberta, only the roles will be reversed.

Burke spent time in Moose Jaw before the draft scouting and meeting with Reilly and the Leafs were very high on him. There was no surprise when he was picked. He was ranked 7th or 8th due to having missed half the season with an ACL. Great talent and a good head on his shoulders.

Connor McDavid changes everything. Wouldn't surprise me in the least, in fact it's highly probable that all this happened the minute the Oilers won the draft lottery and McDavid knew he was Edmonton bound.
Plenty of back channeling going on between then and now I'd imagine. The Oilers being so poorly run was very apparent to Connor and his agent, they wanted the old guard gone. If the Oilers didn't win the lottery, it would have been status quo for another year.
Good for them though. I'll miss the jokes, but I'm really not one to "worry" about any other team besides my own. Especially when my team is a game away from the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Yeah, there's about 20% chance this wasn't damage control as a result of something out of McDavid's camp.

I'm 100% sure this came from the McDavid camp... its no coincidence. Lowe/MacT celebrating over the win, and suddenly they are shown the door? (or in Lowe's case, promotion?)
I think the circus act is gone, which sucks, and the Oilers have a pretty good chance to become a real good team now. But the era of a dynasty is dead; Boston and LA couldn't even make the playoffs this year. As mentioned many times, Crosby, Ovechkin, Tavaras, Stamkos etc have enjoyed minimal to no championship success. And the Oilers have no D, and it will basically be impossible to acquire outside of a trade. Still a long road ahead.... but the circus act is indeed dead.

Not sure if just baiting for angry responses, sarcasm, or you actually believe all this sky is falling crap you've been posting about the Oilers
