51 days ago, #Flames GM Brad Treliving traded Curtis Glencross to Washington for a 2nd and a 3rd round pick. Tonight he's a healthy scratch.
Crazy.

After getting 6 points in his first 7 games with the Caps, he only has 1 point in the last 14 games, including no points and a -3 so far in the playoffs.

Wow. Difficult to negotiate a big contract when you can't crack the team.

Wow, but I am not surprised with his cold streak. I am so happy Treliving traded him. Great return for someone who is now a healthy scratch in the playoffs.

And the Flames are arguably a better team without Glencross in the lineup. Absolute steal of a trade by Treliving

I must have missed something. What was wrong with the hit on Visnovsky?

It was a charge, but not much else.

Edit: Actually looks clean, borderline at worst.

Islanders will not win anything unless they fix that powerplay.

They were discussing on 960 this morning that the Caps have a few guys just like Glencross on the roster and as we know all well he's a guy that just doesn't have it some nights. There were times over the season the he probably deserved a seat in the press box for the Flames but didn't because of his reputation/leadership. He doesn't have that with the Capitals and is getting ice time on merit. He still can be an effective player but teams in free agency have to be aware that he's not a player that can bring it every night and when he doesn't have it he's not effective at all.

The Islanders score first, goal by Bailey, 1-0.

Kuznetsove scores three minutes later, 1-1 now.

Ference is one of the commentators on NBCSn during the intermission.

I wonder when his agent set this gig up... by the Oiler's 20th game of the season or earlier?

The Capitals blew this game wide open in the 3rd period as they went on to win 5-1. Kuznetsov with 3 points. Halak gets pulled after letting in all 5 goals. Looking like Trotz is out coaching Capuano.

A strange fact has the Islanders losing game 5 of a series for the 11th straight time?!?!?

To quote Bob Hartley on how meaningful this stat is: "What went on in 1940 and what went on in 2005, 2010, what can we change? Elvis is dead. The Beatles have split"
