Go Johnny Go!
Early in the year, who would have imagined that Forsberg wouldn't make the cut?

Hard to disagree with those choices when all is said and done.. crazy though considering 3 quarters into the season you would have thought Forsberg was a lock to be nominated and the favourite to win.

I think Johnny has this. Stone had a tremendous second half/last 1/3, and Ekblad didn't help his team into the playoffs.

I think Stone takes the hardware home.

No Forsberg which is surprising but there are too many good candidates this season.

lot of attention in Canada for Stone, but Gaudreau has substantially more cashe in the US.
Ekblad is a possibility (30% maybe?) but I think Johnny is the favourite (or should I say favorite?)

no surprises with the top 3, but who do you give the award to? When was the last time the Calder was so competitive, Sid/Ovie/Dion?

Could see Stone and Ekblad splitting the East vote and allowing Johnny to win.

While Stoner came on strong the second half, it wasn't a full season. The nomination should have gone to someone more deserving in Forsberg who was strong all year.
Johnny takes home the hardware. Too many factors in his favor to give him a leg up.

Sweet was a little scared that it would somehow be Forsberg, Stone, and Ekblad as the finalists, but all is right in the world again.

I think it bodes well that one of the three top vote getters is from the West. There is a good chance that the East voters were split more on Elkblad and Stone, that is if you buy into the notion that there are biases that come into play based on region.

Did you mean cachet? Or does Johnny have a lot of money there?
"Johnny Cachet".

Yeah I've been saying for a while Johnny's got this. He is the exact personage the NHL needs to market the game in the US so having him as the Calder winner is just the icing on the cake!

I'm sure there are some salty Preds fans out there.
The nominees are as they should be. Even though Ekblad had a phenomal season, I think it it comes down to Gaudreau and Stone. Go Johnny!
