Substitute sex with flashing. Still feel the same way? It's more extreme but exactly the same idea.
It's never ok to pressure someone to do something, particularly using a herd mentality. Also particularly when it comes to sexuality and/or personal safety.
I don't give a #### that others are doing it voluntarily. It has no relevance.

Honest question for the guys: What is it about hockey that makes men sexually excited? What does hockey have to do with sex? Is it all the extra testosterone flooding the bloodstream? Is this why there are so many fights following a big game too?
You have this phenomenon of men losing their sociocultural norms and just start shouting at random women to show them their tits. Do these men do this in their every day lives? I'm betting not (Dear god I hope not). Simple rule, if you wouldn't do it sober, you probably shouldn't do it drunk.
I've also read many posts in here about men getting "hockey boners" over a really good play by a particular player. Seriously fellas, if you're watching a hockey game and you actually get an erection, you might want to consult a therapist about that.

Sports are the modern analogue for tribalism and warfare.
However, it's more alcohol than sports that leads to the above.

Alcohol fueled crowds cause a lot of trouble, and I'm not just talking hockey.

Kind of off topic, but this thread reminded me of Inside Amy Schumer this week.

My advice for anyone would be to go with friends you trust. You'll have a better time and be safer. Maybe bring someone who doesn't drink at all/drinks very little to be a voice of reason.

No, but thankfully no one is doing this. I know I'm a decent guy, but to a stranger I'm a stranger. Put yourself in someone else's shoes and act from a position of empathy -- that's really all that's required.

The crowd chanting for more afterwards is also a natural response.

Indeed it is, but there are some pretty easy ways to cheer without coming across as a creep, or making people feel unsafe. Here, I'll give us an example:
"Yay! Encore! No? Ok, that was awesome. GFG!"

Speaking as a father this has nothing to do with victorian purity or prudishness, and everything to do with not wanting to see anyone in my family suffer. My daughter will one day have the right to a safe and fulfilling sex life, as do all human beings.

Strictly speaking true, but a little application of empathy means you don't have to treat women as objects for your titillation, which is all that's required.

Walking down a street shouldn't be something any human has to be "smart" about -- especially when it's so easy and within our power to change.

Mad props on use of the word "pettifoggery". Perhaps the best word ever about anything.

I thought the big deal now was that women should be able to go shirtless like men - equal rights.
Now I'm told it's sexist for women to bear their breasts voluntarily?
Jeez, trying to be a Social Justice Warrior nowadays is some hard work!

I'm not amazed that some people miss the point of some of this. What amazes me is just HOW BADLY some people miss the point.

So much vanilla in today's society. If it was mandatory for all women to congregate somewhere after a flames win, I could understand the awareness, but it's not. Anyway, "Trim the hedgerow for Gaudreau". BOOM!!! I don't know, you figure it out.

Sometimes people are #######s. Some of these #######s become even bigger #######s when they are drunk. Most of them are already aware they are being #######s, but just don't care, so twitter can't do a thing about it.

Not even close. It's sexist to go around asking random women to flash you, like they're objects for your amusement.

This can't possibly be the conclusion you've drawn from this thread.
