Put superstition and history aside -- the Flames were simply dominant in games 3 and 4, all they have to do now is keep up the momentum.
That said, I'm predicting a close game. They have home ice advantage. Which means lots of whining from fans, Van powerplays, probably some serious goonery by the usual suspects.
4-3 Flames.

I really thought Vancouver would come out with a hard push in game 3, they got dominated in periods 2 and 3.
Then I thought they would come out with a more energetic effort in game 4, and again they got dominated. Then the Flames put on a defensive clinic and still almost ran up the score.
They have been thoroughly dominated in the last two games. With their crowd of 19K waving the towels of surrender I am anticipating this time they will actually come out with a better start, but as the saying goes there is two team and sometimes the other team just wants it more and luckily for us that team is our Calgary Flames.

Is it bad that I really want Ferland to run over Sven? I'll admit it's a little irrational but as soon as he became Canucks property he was dead to me.

I'm not defending. I just hope I'm right. It was/is a black-eye for NHL hockey fan...at least in Vancouver.
Anyway, go Flames go!

Yeah won't happen, I agree. It's only happened twice after the SCF both times. The city doesn't really care about them any way right now, hardly any of the fans I know have even been watching this series at all. Biggest bandwagon team in pro sports, people only care when there's hype.

I agree the mood is very much defeated, after quick losses in 2012 and 13, the Canuck fans have already brought out there white towels waving surrender. Its quiet out here.

I really hope Hartley takes the approach that we should be the desperate team as though we were down 3-1.
Certainly don't want to change momentum and give VCR any reason to hope.
I am confident we can win this tonight.

The riots were really a product of extreme hope/expectation being suddenly and embarrassingly extinguished.
I could see it happen if they made the finals again and lost, but a frist round exit? They're used to that by now.

Recent history has the Canucks under performing and folding like a cheap tent in the first round. I'm going to focus on this "history". Flames get it done tonight!

Probably not - Ferland's hits are usually down low in the offensive zone. Sven never comes back that far on the backcheck.

I have a lot of confidence in Hartley - team psychologist. He seems to have the magic touch to put the players in the right frame of mind for the situation.
