Not picking on you EE but this sentiment has always been weird to me as I'm not sure what relevance it has to today's game. I can understand if the Iginla led Flames were still at the helm but today's team is completely different as there isn't a single player on our roster that was on the 2004, 2006 or 2008 teams. Those teams were all up 2-1 and lost Game 4 instead of taking a stranglehold.... this team went after the Canucks. If anything, this team has shown a tendency to play big when the other team has a significant amount at stake (see the LA, Dallas and Colorado wins in the last 2 weeks of the year).
That said, I expect the Canucks to come out hard. Hopefully the Flames can keep their composure and get in on the forecheck.

I hope Bob starts the Ferland line again. Let them set the tone and get the Canucks D fearing for their lives again.

4-2 flames. Will go down 1-0, tie up, down 2-1 going into the 3rd, then score 2 + empty net.

After two games in front of the C of Red, tonight is going to feel like playing in a library. Hope the Flames can get out to a quick start and keep it quiet all game long.
One and done for Sven.

Normally I would love a Flames playoff game on a Saturday night. In this instance, I'll be just fine with watching whatever is on with the Flames resting for next round. Win it tonight boys! GFG!

Yeah I agree.
The broadcast crew last Friday said it was a battle of two trends. The Flames haven't won a game 2 in 5 tries and the Canucks had lost 7 straight home games.
The Flame stat is irrelevant because the games span over 2 generations of the team, and who pays attention to game 2s anyway.
The Canuck one was real, as they had at least a half dozen guys in their room that have felt those losses, and likely have some dread in their heads.
The finish series stuff going back 11 years won't effect anything.
The team is young and every new experience is exactly that.

Well how do you explain the 20+ straight losses in the Honda Center? Plenty of different players over the last decade in and out and the same results. Some losing streaks transcend the players and become an organizational streak such as these losing streaks. I fully realize that just because it happened in 2004, 2006, 2008 doesn't mean it will happen with a different group. Jets/Thrashers have been swept in their only two playoff series despite totally different teams. Their streak of losing playoff games continues. Bottom line is that regardless of the current players or coaches it's still a fact the Flames are on a streak of losing playoff games where they have teams on the ropes. Until that streak is broken it's very relevant.

I will counter this with 2 points one of which was mentioned above. This is not the Iggy-Kipper Flames of 06-12 where they would choke be it in the playoffs or the regular season. This Flames team fought hard and surged into the playoffs without their best player and are young, confident, and have more energy than their opponent.
My second point is the Canucks have turned into that team that chokes especially in the playoffs. We are playing a group that has gone 3-15 in the playoffs since being up 2-0 in the 2011 SCF. They had one big game this series and got completely out worked in 2 games in Calgary.
Tonight will be tight I am going with the Flames 3-2 in OT

Because it's bound to happen for every team at some point? NHL franchises play a lot of games in a lot of different buildings for decades upon decades. At some time every team going to go on a long losing streak in a certain building (especially once you add in the loser point and shootouts which take away the option of a tie).
There doesn't have to be an explanation for every little stat in sports. Sometimes it's just the way probability works.
