Plus, they showed the neon guy on the tv also, what a moran.
One area where Ferland already seems to have an edge on Lucic is in the intelligence department. Lucic has a propensity to take really stupid penalties at really bad times. Ferland had one dumb penalty in this series that was simply a rookie mistake, learned quickly and has played a very smart game since. With Lucic you're always hoping the good will outweigh the bad, but with Ferland I'm just not seeing any bad

'09 Hawk = '15 Flames. Dynamite duo of Gaudreau and Monahan (Toews & Kane) leading the way with a dynamite backend, solid goaltending, and young team on the rise. Playing with nothing to lose and don't know any better. Young stars still on entry level deals.

Flames make WCF this year. Win Cup next season
One can dream. The whole experience has been surreal so far.

That's awesome that Bennett got credit for the Brodie goal. When he first crashed the net I thought it was Ferland and was so pumped. My wife was feeding our newborn and I startled him pretty good when I shouted "FERRRRRLLLLYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" Then they gave it to Brodie. Then I saw Ferland was actually Bennett. I was sure Bennett scored but didn't care at that point I was just so pumped. Then the wife asked if I wanted to hold Owen while she skipped off to the washroom and he spit up all over me.

Worth it.

Anyone have a gif of the Jones/Ferland Bash Brothers Smash in the first? I believe it was on Sbisa.

Oh man what a night, I took a nap and set my alarm for 1:50am, then I wake up and see light outside, 5am! Was sooo mad, thankfully I had CenterIce on with "scores off"

Watched the whole game as if it was live, phew, what a game, holy crap I'm so tired today.

Hartley said that we are only scratching the surface with Ferland so I don't want to get ahead of myself. Its crazy to think he has less than 40 NHL games to his credit.

I think he can be better than Lucic. Lucic is a loose cannon, he takes bad penalties and is a worse skater than Ferland. Its hard to even call Ferland a pest. He just plays a hard effective game. For the type of game that he plays, he is so composed and smart about keeping his emotions in check. He has a swagger to his game that few rookies do.

Didn't see it mentioned here, but did anyone else notice how little it took for Bollig to get that 10 minute misconduct? Bollig is very useful (especially in front of the net) but he's really got to keep his nose clean cause he's a huge target. I'm kind of surprised Dorsett got away with how much he has been while Bollig has been targetted a ton.

For all the (deserving) criticism thrown at the refs, I thought they did a great job last night. I didn't agree with the Bollig call at the time, but after a few PP shinanigans, the game really settled down and this type of game really favours the Flames IMO. I don't think we can excel in a Canucks chippy, dirty, scrappy kind of game, so that sets us up well for game 5.

Yeah, great point. he has walked away from a few fights in the last couple of games. maybe regular season, he'd go, but you're right, if he can control his emotions even better.

Speaking of,,,, how fkn stoopid is Bufgylien? that guy takes some really bad penalties for playoff hockey. Great player but really dumb.

Kelly Hrudey said the same thing. They were comparing Ferland to Lucic, and Hrudey commented that he's like Lucic but a better skater, so he could be even better...? Then he admitted that he was getting ahead of himself haha.

I think Bickell is a better comparison for Ferland imo.

Great win by the team, hope they finish off the Canucks tomorrow. Ferland... what can you say that already hasn't been said?

Our team seems to have a good mix of skill, tenacity and speed. I'm loving this group!

Edit: A poster previously mentioned Stajan... definitely an unsung hero, he's been quietly having a great series.

I don't want to sell Ferland short, but Lucic has scored 30 goals in a season, more than 20 goals three times, and twice had between 15 and 20. It would take a huge elevation in play for Ferland to dream of those numbers.

Having said that, Lucic is a more underhanded dirty player.

I just don't see them as direct comparables.

So work is interesting today.

What a great game to be at, I can't believe you guys are saying the dome was quieter last night than Sunday cause it was loud AF in the nosebleeds.

Red Mile was epic. Shout out to the Canucks fan we convinced to burn his jersey and then got arrested for it! Epic.

I made that self bet on my signature as soon as we were clearly out of the McDavid race and would really like to keep it.
