Ouch that explains everything.

Now the only thing that's unclear.. Was it self inflicted?

Obviously there are far more opinions in the thread expressing the opposite opinion, so it would be pretty silly to paint everyone with the same brush. So that would be on them and their poor interpretation of the thread.

I more or less agree with Ducay. I would have phrased it in a slightly less inflammatory manner, but I also feel the game is better without players like Burrows in it. The league won't get rid of them or impose harsh enough suspensions for them to change their ways, so I'll continue to hope for career ending injuries for them. Nothing that is life threatening or permanently damaging to their lives after hockey, but if they can't play any more, that's ok with me.

I don't know... I'll be honest; when I saw the topic title my first reaction was 'hahaha karma, karma, karma' and I said it out loud.

I find it hard to believe that the majority of you didn't had the same/similar first reaction.
If the incident occured during (tonight's) game as a result of a Ferland hit or punch the reactions would be much different I think.

Sure, I hope he will be okay, but if this incident ends his NHL carreer (which I don't think will be the case) I sure wouldn't mind it.
I feel much more sorry for his wife and kids and parents.
It's something you wouldn't wish you worst enemy to go through.

If my favourite team can benefit from the misery of another team, I'll take it any day.
Sure, there is a limit but that limit is pretty high... especially during this time of the year.

Needs an ambulance for a broken rib? Is that the equivalent of diving in real life? What a wimp.

Burrows you suck, AND you waste precious medical resources!

Jesus.

Why can't we just hope the guy plays and the Flames beat the tar out the Canucks and Burrows is -10 on the night and leave it at that? Why wish a career ending injury on anyone? Cripes, it's just a game.

Can make it extremely difficult to breathe depending on how he broke it.

I'm assuming you've never broken a rib.

It feels like your entire chest is collapsing.

He was probably so afraid of retribution that his initial reaction was that his testicles and shrunk so high they were up in his chest. If that were the case, anyone would call for an ambulance!

Have to wonder if he blacked out or something. Still seems a little odd that a broken rib couldn't have been detected at the dome. Typically you wouldn't need an ambulance for that, would you? Honest question I have never broken a rib.

Sometime I wish people could find that happy middle ground of hockey rivalry that isn't either of ...

a) classless
b) falling all over ourselves to be politically correct

Because he actively tries to injure other players in the game? I don't feel the same about any other player on the Canucks. There are probably only 2 or 3 players in the league that I feel this way about. Burrows in one of them though.

You two are detestable, and no better than the much bigger contingent of Canuck fans who wish permanent injury on people.

Just disgusting. It's a game, and no one loathes Burrows more than I do but that crosses a line, and makes you just as bad as the huge array of bad apples in Vancouver's fan base.
