I agree with your other points but this one is dumb.
Just cause their skin color is the same as ours they don't have feelings?
Fact of the matter is, they're white so we don't care about making fun of them.
I can run around yelling "Put anotha' shrimp on the barby" in an Aussie accent, run around yelling "Cheerio, Mate" in an english accent or make fun of Bob Hartleys accent all I want cause they're white and society doesn't car about white on white insults. However, If I go pretend to be Apu from the simpsons, I'll probably get some crap these days.

Uh no, re-read the post. German isn't a race, therefore it can't be racist. Just like Canadian, English, Irish, etc. It's a language and a nationality. Suggesting that all Germans are white is well...

Yes, us poor, oppressed white people. When are we going to get our chances? White people making fun of white people isn't generally considered an issue, and neither is black people making fun of black people, or latinos making fun of other latinos.

Some people may take exception...
People just need to think (which is a stretch for many, especially after a few drinks) - if a 3rd person heard this, could offence be taken? And, when in doubt, don't.

It's still the same idea as Racism. You're making fun of an entire nationality.

I never said I was against it or there's anything bad with it? I'm just saying that white on white insults and stereotyping has always been fair game. That's why you can make fun of German engineers on tv.

There are obviously limits no matter what nationality you're dealing with. If it was a commercial of a bunch of goons wearing SS uniforms and driving VWs, I'm sure you'd offend some Germans.
What? It wasn't my joke. I just thought it was better than Sedin Sisters.
It's also pretty tame. I'm sure Katy Perry would love it.
I don't think anyone is arguing that it's not tame. Pointing out that something is sexist in nature isn't the same as running around and screaming that no one should do it. It got a heavy eye-roll from me and nothing more. It's really kind of amusing that you're more upset about people pointing out that it's sexist than any of us are about the sexism.

Now Jeremy Clarkson may have done it again, this time probably also offending the Poles just for good measure.
The presenter has made a spoof car advert that jokes about Germany's invasion of Poland, which led to the Second World War.
Scores of angry viewers complained to the BBC, media regulator Ofcom and on online message boards after it was shown on Sunday night's Top Gear show, watched by 6.7million.
The spoof advert, for the Volkswagen Scirocco TDI, contained a clip of people in Warsaw panicking and rushing to board trains and buses to escape the city.
Joking about the car's fuel economy, it ended with the tag line: 'Volkswagen Scirocco TDI. Berlin to Warsaw in one tank' - a reference to Adolf Hitler's decision to invade Poland.
