Yeah, I agree. As great as Ferland has been the last 3 games (I think we are a much worse team without him) it's weird to think that the Flames are being labelled as the physical team. For a group in the regular season who got so few penalties, with Engelland (who plays tough, but not close to overly aggressive by NHL standards) and Bollig who was often scratched, it's weird to think that we all of a sudden rely on physicality. I guess that's what happens when our Norris-calibre Captain goes down, then our first line stepping up during March and early April only to struggle for various unknown reasons in the playoffs.

This is just another adaptation the team has made to remain competitive. The team has transformed multiple times throughout the season, and has hit a home run with every new style of play. Certainly weird to think of the current Flames roster as a rough, edgy team, but I guess that's what most teams look like playing the Nucks.

Ask Jiri Hudler how 'clean' of hockey the Vancouver Canucks play. I think that guy was the recipient of about a dozen cheap shots last night alone.

Just Bieska trying to save face.

I agree with most of this, but I don't think the top line is struggling for unknown reasons. I think it's pretty clear that neither Monahan or Hudler are injury free. It looks to me like Hudler is the worse off of the two.

They may be injured, but the biggest problem is the play of the Canucks and taking away their time and space and keeping them to the perimeter. They are unable to make the plays they used too, until they get a 5 on 3 and Monny has the time and space to get a great shot off

Us in the US get Cuthbert and Hedican again for game 4, then back to Hughson/Simpson for game 5.

That's awesome news! Sky sport nz has been picking up that feed. I've been fortunate enough to have flames hockey at work!

Flames win game 3 and being the proud Flames fan I rub it in a little, but his response was this "Honestly I see the Flames winning in 6."

Either Canucks fans are weak or they actually don't belive in the team Desjardan puts out there.

So my theory is that Canucks fans don't have any faith in their team. Some are still optimistic, some are quiet about their lack of faith, and some try to cover the pain with extreme hatred towards the Flames.
Honestly I and many others were the same way after that crushing 2006 game 7 defeat. Flames were so inconsistent with so many holes even when they made the playoffs I had zero confidence in them. The Canucks fall from grace has been much faster and more pronounced, winning only 1 playoff game over the last 3 years

Thankfully the feeling I get from this year's Flames is closer to the 2004 squad than anything that came after

People should start chanting "irrelevant" every time Bieksa touches the puck at tomorrows game

Am I correct in remembering that every Flames playoff series going back to and including the entire 2004 run has ended up tied 2-2? Man it would be awesome if they could finally buck that trend tomorrow

If we win tomorrow that will be the first time we've had a 3-1 lead in the playoffs in what 23+ years?

According to your post that means the flames won the series 5-2?

Looks like 4-2 to me.

Let's see.

1996: LLLL
1995: LLWWWLL
1994: LWWWLLL

The last time the Flame had a 3-1 series lead in the playoffs was 1994 vs the Canucks. We also lost the next 3 all in OT...

This series so far (and game 3 in particular) reminds me of the Habs-Bruins series last year. Montreal got under Boston's skin and the Bruins got caught up with getting revenge while Montreal just focused on playing the game.

You also felt the same way after any back to back losses this year, or any other time the going got tough.

Sorry, but you are like the Canuck fans that were being referenced to a tee.
