I changed my mind, I'm going to go with Oxygen, maybe tomorrow.

It's closer to a bare-bones Google Android OS. Cyanogen's list of bugs is fairly large. Given the issues between Cyanogen and OnePlus, I suspect (and it's pure speculation) that support and fixes/updates will be better from the Oxygen team going forward.

That said, it was a major pain to install, but now that it's done, it's smooth, fast and looks good.

The major pain to install part is disappointing.
Will future updates now come OTA or require manual install? Would enjoy hearing your experience with it over time. Thanks

No, once you switch from Cyanogen to Oxygen future updates should be OTA.

Turns out I followed the wrong guide. there's a better way than I did, looks like it would have been easier. Part of my problem was that I had never done any rooting or anything, so had no tools. Took some time to get the right devel tools, and the debug usb driver.

I will say that it's performing very well so far. Had a bunch of "the clock app has stopped" errors for a while, then they went away. The API or whatever it is that makes the Gmail app work with MS Exchange isn't included, but is installable. I opted to try a new email client anyway, and love the one I chose (Mailwise) so it's a non-issue.

There's a better video guide which uses easier tools, and makes it look almost easy.

Not sure if it's just me but my battery life is going down pretty fast since the new Cyanogen Update. How is the Oxygen one compared to Cyanogen?

Apparently there's a bug or 2 in the Google Play services app in Lollipop that eats battery.
If CM12 has privacy guard, you can tweak some setting there to tell it not to keep awake, not to use GPS etc. My battery life was a bit worse after Oxygen, but I installed App Ops (similar to Privacy Guard) and have tweaked a few things, hopefully it'll be good.

I couldn't wait longer, so downloaded Cyanogen directly from oneplus and flashed it. Very easy process. Haven't played enough with it to have any idea about anything about it. Hope battery is okay ... It was fantastic on 11

Yes, they say there will be a patch out next two weeks for the battery for the google play services and update service battery bugs. They are waiting for the CM12S rollout to mostly finish before doing the second OTA.

My battery life is much worse with this patch, hoping that'll fix it.

Battery life much worse on L as well.
Lots of little things I don't like as much about it, to tell the truth.... But it is fast and smooth.
Looking forward to patch for battery life

They stopped the ota rolling to add the equivalent "OK oneplus" to open search. Apparently..
Btw, battery issue is a google thing, not a oneplus or Cyanogen thing.

not sure what is up but this is my 3rd update i had to do in a span of a week or two. The previous battery life on the 2nd update seemed a bit better as the battery didnj't die as fast but that could be due to some of the apps I have running.

Hoping whatever this 3rd update is makes things back to normal.

I am now at 12.0 for Cyanogen and 5.0.2 android version since I had the update yesterday evening. had it fully charged when i went to bed. And left it uncharged over night. Battery life looks like it barely moved an inch.

The one thing I don't like so far about the new update is the lock screen. I'm not a fan of the swipe as others can easily get into your phone. I had just the PIN prior to these updates and now it looks like you have to swipe than type in your PIN. And it doesn't looks like you can go around this as I've tried looking at the Lock Screen from Settings.

Other than that I haven't noticed anything else thats different.
